People, Can We Keep Our Comments Much Shorter?

It's a pain in the ass to read your "books" you write here. Who has time to read 'em all, let alone try to find 'em through the maze of everybody's messages when there are many of 'em?

I don't know why the set-up here is complicated and confusing (sometimes horizontal, sometimes vertical), but it is, so let's not write long answers, huh?

p.s. All Robert Wagner fans can look elsewhere for support. This is a Pro-Natalie Wood forum! (LOL)

Speaking of that, Nat Forum Browser, you told me earlier that you admired R.J. Can I ask you why? What significant thing(s) has he ever done in his life to make you "admire" him?

He is not Jonathan Hart, he's Robert Wagner - a second or third-tier actor. Never nominated for an Oscar, nor ever will be. Not known for his charity work. Doesn't go to church. Never served on any board of anything. Never held public office. Never saved anyone's life.

What has he done?

p.s. Mr. Anonymous, since you like to butt in, you, too, might as well tell us all why you like him. But, I am curious to know why Nat Forum Browser does.

Yes, Mr. Anonymous, I have done some of those things.

I've done/do church, charity work, public office (student council in school, union rep. in past employment), saved a life (a man who had an allergic bee sting reaction), as well as saved four souls (they became Christians).

Not that this forum is about me, but in case you were going to post that question to me.

I also hope to one day win the Oscar for Best Adapted or Original Screenplay.

No, I'm not going to jump in and defend Wagner's work because, while I don't despise the man as you and others do, I'm not what you would call a "fan" either.

But as for your advertisement for yourself and your good deeds, again - get over yourself. Who are you to judge another human being's worth?

For what it's worth, Wagner is known to do a lot of charity work (the Jimmy Stewart Marathon for St. John's Heath Center and the Barbara Sinatra Children's Center are two examples) and made many charitable contributions both with and without Natalie (UNICEF and supporting skiing schools for deaf children). They also helped many people out financially (Joe Pantoliano tells of a story when he was a struggling actor appearing in "From Here to Eternity" with Natalie, she and RJ loaned him money to pay his rent and some back taxes). But it was done privately and without fanfare because they didn't do it to say "look at what wonderful people we are". And personally I respect someone more when they don't "toot their own horn".

Hope this post wasn't too long and you were able to make it through without having to take a break.

Hmmm...for someone who isn't a fan of his, you sure know his personal business.

I bet you even know how much he paid in taxes this year, too.

As for my telling you of a few of my accomplishments, it was a no-win situation with you. Had I not offered those things, you would have asked for them. So...whatever.

It was a reasonable question: what has he done significantly?

By the way, Natalie and "Ole Blue Eyes" were good friends, so subtract that little mentioning of that good deed done by R.J.

Sinatra probably banged her in the 60's, too, while R.J. was banging his daughter, Nancy!

Because of my interest in Natalie, it's hard not to know about Wagner too. Thorough research will do that, when you don't mind reading that is.

Wagner's work with Barbara Sinatra continues to this day, so that scratches your theory that it only happened through Natalie. And he was friends with Frank Sinatra, both with Natalie and when they were apart. And it was Tina Sinatra who Wagner dated, not Nancy. Maybe if you didn't mind reading long stories, you'd know all of this. I mean really, for someone who claims to know it all and tell us all how it is, you sure need to check your facts.

And as for your self-promoting post, don't flatter yourself. I don't give your life a second thought. What IS revealing, though, is how judgmental you are.

but Sinatra was closer to Natalie in the 60s. She was one of the few invited to the engagement party of Frank and Mia. RJ was not invited. She was at the private parties at his house, RJ was not. Natalie traveled in his circles a bit more often than RJ did. Then RJ began seeing Tina. They broke up and RJ dated a few ladies, then he called Natalie and began seeing her. I'm sure you know that Frank gave Natalie her 21st birthday party. His daughters have said that he never got over her death and always wondered what happened. RJ works closely with Barbara on Sinatra's golf tournament. As a friend of mine said, they are two of a kind, RJ and Barbara.

Well, I'm going to have to disagree with you again, Maryanne. Because in addition to being a Natalie Wood fan, I'm also a huge Frank Sinatra fan. Robert Wagner was friends on his own with Sinatra. How do you think Tina ended up getting together with him? He was friends with her father.

That, Dr Noguchi-san, guess was addressed to me...even if sometimes Mr Eastman does his share of long posts...and a few others...

I like to write...does it shows, doesn't it? I'll do my best to restain myself and possibly cut a long message in two. I promise!

Well, I say the heck with Michael's marching orders! Who do you think you are, anyway telling everyone to keep it short? You've said before that you're here to learn and to do research for your book. But I guess the only type of research you care to do is the lazy kind.

Look, if you don't want to put the effort into reading what's posted here - and admittedly some posts are long because the posters have taken the time to make them thoughtful and intelligent - you're welcome to NOT read them or to leave altogether. But to tell the rest of us to keep it short because YOU don't like to read lengthy posts, get over yourself.

Stop bumpin' yer gums, Anonymous!

I'm not the only one to complain of that. I'm saying the way it is set up here, it is difficult to keep up. You know that, too, but you don't want to give me credit for that.

The longer the posts, and the more the number of posts, the less likely your worthless point is going to be read. (Directed to Mr. Anonymous only.)

Y'all, of course, can keep on doing things the hard way. I'm not trying to tell you what to do. I was asking, not commanding. It's just easier for everybody if we keep our replies to a few paragraphs.

Now, can Nat Forum Browser get a word in edgewise before you interrupt him/her again?

Well, you're the only one who's complained. So the rest of us seem to manage just fine.

And please, NatBrowser can post anytime. We don't have to wait in line here. My posting has no bearing on his ability to post, so you can drop order too.

I would like the person to be able to answer my question to them before you fill up space with a bunch of yap.

You're always the first one to yap when I ask Nat Forum Browser a question. I would like them to tell me what they think before you plaster your reaction all over the place. By the time they return, my question is buried deep within your yap. And you blame ME for running off new people!

How 'bout you starting a topic for a change, instead of rebutting other people's all the time, or are you not able to?

This is why I never go on those "chat" lines on the net. They are annoying. I'm too old for 'em, anyway. It's mostly teens yappin' about sex. Didn't mean to stay so long here, either, but I am learning new information all the time.

I've never blamed you for running off new people.

(Is that post short enough? Were you able to make it all the way through or did you need to take a break?)

The title message is meant to be only a joke...

Have you ever been a fan, Michael? A fan of a TV series or a fan of an actress or whatever else? I think not otherwise you would not be here asking me why I like Robert Wagner. I said I'm a fan of him. A fan is a fan. You like an actor, like the work he does, get interested in his career, and his personal life...and so on..that's just as simple even if it may look stupid or childish to some...

To widen a little your question, it seems to me that your reasoning is more or less the same as judging a person from his annual income...Is your list what makes a person's worth? And the more you show how good you are (Again, not you personally), the more 'status' you get among your fellow neighbors?

And speking for RJ involvement with charities -thanks Anonymuos for the infos- he does not need to have that on a billboard at the entrance of the freeway!

Aren't you, Michael a bit....if I may...boastful? It does not mean that what you do isn't good...

Dear Mr. Eastman,
Great posts here. You really show exactly what you are made of. Iwonder why the fool who is digging around for old posts to feed off of never posted this thread again.
Disgusting and oh so arrogant!
