The petition is still active. There is no set deadline when it must be closed. I will soon print it and send it to the LA County Sheriff's Department, but I am planning to keep it active indefinitely and will resubmit as more signatures are added. The link posted elsewhere works, as well as www.gopetition.com/petitions/natalie-wood.html

The detectives who worked for the LA County Sheriffs Dept. back in 1981 are either retired or dead. The people presently working there did not do the crappy job but the could rectify it by re-investigating.

I think the impressed by 200 people comment was by a troll. IT wasn't giving a coimpliment, IT was laughing at only 200 signatures. IT is a pathetic BIATCH who's only pleasure in life is trolling the internet.

damn I cant tell where is the crappy song choice and the lol's its a hard call. I think your petition is wonderful, but I also think the L.A.P.D. is the single most pathetic police force in our nation, they are the D.E.A. of police forces and we all know what an enormous success the dea is, why I think the Afghan drug lords just quake at the thought of them (choking on laughter). If it were any other cop shop in the nation I think your kind hearted, earnest, well intentioned petition would be taken very seriously but its them I'm sorry to say, so if they do ignore it, its not your fault!

You may laugh all you want. I am not doing this to curry favor with stunted minds such as yours. It does not matter what you think or say, your words are irrelevant. This is for Natalie and Natalie alone.

I'm not laughing at you, I'm just cynical about justice in Los Angeles. I think what you are doing is nice.

"I'm not laughing at you, I'm just cynical about justice in Los Angeles. I think what you are doing is nice."

My response was not directed at you. It was in response to the poster of the "impressed by 200 people" remark. This unfortunately is the problem when everyone posts as "Anonymous." Surely you can be more creative than that, without disclosing your true identity. Thanks!

I'm sure I can speak for everyone when I say that nobody wants the inside that Vlad has! We don't want the outside either so go back to where you came from and practice your vocabulary.

I will pray for you, you need to develop character, you need to try the novelty of saying just once something intelligent and kind and informative. Also what does having money mean to you? You use the term billionaire-which first of all is untrue and secondly is THAT why you like him because he's rich? Then you must love Dick Cheney, Sarah Palin and Bin Laden, they are all rich too. You have pathetic idols and a worse value system.

First, this is not the LAPD, they have jurisdiction over only the city of Los Angeles. This is the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, which has jurisdiction over the county of Los Angeles, that includes Santa Catalina Island. The intent of the petition is to appeal to their obligation to uphold the laws and properly investigate a case where it has been shown that evidence was ignored and/or improperly analyzed the first time. There is not a "procedure" that is followed, but the Chief of the department would have the authority to re-open the case based on the new evidence which will be explained to them. Thanks to all for their support.

I'm sure Dennis will have to make a sworn statement if this petition is taken seriously by the L.A. County Sheriff's Dept. That may be the first step that is taken.

That is another thing I don't undertstand. Why can't Dennis Davern give a sworn statement right now?
I don't know the Law very well but what about these adults who as children were molested by clergy or family members? Twenty, thirty years later they go to the authorities and these cases are opened. Shouldn't the same be true in this event?

Well, from what I read, when Rulli offered up Davern, the police weren't interested. Says alot of L.A. law, huh

They have never wanted his statement but if they take the petition seriously, and they should, a statement from Dennis could be the key to unlock a fresh investigation.

Why was Rulli offering up Davern to the police? He should be doing that by himself.

Rulli spoke with both Rasure and Salerno and both gentleman did not seem to want to hear from Dennis. If I were these men I would be embarrassed by the way this case was handled.
Obviously, Rasure disliked Dennis. He dismissed him. According to Rulli, Rasure expressed regret for the way he handled the case but so far, not a word from him. I will always wonder if Rasure was on the take. He catered to RJ. The case was closed in days. Noguchi claimed to see scratches on the dinghy
, Rasure said there were no scratches. Why didn't Rasure speak out at the time and say there were no scratches. Who is lying and why? Why would Noguchi say there were scratches if there were not, why would Rasure say the were not scratches if there were? There are so many unanswered questions that will never be able to be answered that could have been very relevant. It's a disgrace that way this case was handled. As a huge life long fan of Natalie, it makes me very angry. It makes me angry on many levels. My anger is placed equally between RJ and Duanne Rasure and Frank Salerno.

I can't believe they didn't want a statement from Dennis Davern. I believe it but it just sounds so typical of the California Law Enforcement Agencies.
Imagine not taking a formal statement from one of the three people who made it off the Splendour still breathing?
