I order esspresso and cappuchino often in fine restaurants after dinner. I rcently purchased a Bialetti Brikka 2 cup stove top espresso maker. This pot produces a very nice result with crema. The fact that I use fresh ground superior coffee beans of a grade not used by most commercial coffee houses and restaurants leads to the conclusion that the beans provide the taste more than the equipment. I also use a simple Melita filter system to brew regular coffee and draw a similar conclusion.
Coffee making is not difficult, but some people believe in ritual and dogma. I just want my coffee to taste right for me. So I have run my own experiments as drawn my own conclusions.
