i have recently upgraded to another espresso machine, but would really like to fix my old one to give to a friend. my old machine is a starbucks barista athena. the knob that controls the steam wand does not seem to shut off completely. and whenever i try to pull a shot, all the water goes straight to the steam wand bypassing the basket altogether....i have spent hours with the entire machine taken apart attempting to discover the root of the problem, but with no luck once i got it back together.....i did manage to clean it out pretty good......has anyone ever encountered a similiar problem....and if so.....is there a way to fix it?
