A quest for tea

Fifteen years ago, I was invited to a family's home for tea. They were from Sri Lanka (formerly Ceylon) and they served me the most delicious tea I ever experienced. It was a distinct orange color with lively flavor and not the first hint of bitterness. I have lost track of the family and have been on a quest for tea like that ever since. Does anybody know the kind of tea of which I speak? I would be grateful for any guidance you can offer. I feel like Indiana Jones and the quest for the elusive cuppa.
