Well, I am finally trying to get a journal started!

I have been planning on doing this for weeks, but to be honest, I was a bit intimidated. This is mainly a test message so that I can see what I have created!

I will start with just a little biographical information. I am currently 38 years old. (My birthday is July 6, 1966.) I am happily married to a wonderful, godly man. We are the proud parents of 7 (yes 7) children ranging in ages from 15 down to almost 3. There are 4 boys and 3 girls. I stay at home and also home school the kids--hence my name: Busyhsmom!

I have struggled for years searching for that "perfect" haircut, but never really having "hair happiness." My dear husband just likes it long. I've not had it short in years but have fluctuated from shoulder length to bra strap length, with lots of layers and disasterous cuts in between. Since I am not getting any younger, I have decided to take the plunge and just try to let it grow now while I can!

I discovered the Long Hair Loom thanks to a good friend and inspiration, Carrawayseed. She has lovely long hair. And yes, I did struggle with serious hair envy at first! I have been avidly reading the articles and posts on the Loom for the past 2-3 weeks or so. I am learning so much!

My goal for this journal is to be a place where I can record and hopefully be encouraged by my progress. If anyone else can gain anything from my ramblings along the way, well, that would be a bonus! :-)
