Measuring in at 23.5...AGAIN!!! :o(

February 3 2005, 10:46 AM

Well, either I measured incorrectly last month, or my hair has gone on stike. No growth this month at all. Zero! Zip! Nada! Boo! Hoo!

Catching up...

February 3 2005, 10:48 AM

I neglected to put anything in my journal in the last few weeks. So, I will try to play "catch up" today.

Photos of me and the girls.

February 3 2005, 10:55 AM

Here is a pic of me and my 12 and 8 year old daughter.

Here we are with the 3 year old too!

Must add a few points...first, my coat is a lovely shade of red. I do not know why it is looking so orange in the photo. Also, the 8 year old is wearing a poncho that I knitted for her. I think it is cute!

Now to criticize...I hate these pictures because my sit-upon is too big! Also, I was not planning on taking photos and my hair looks awful! Sadly, the camera does not lie!

French twist pics...

February 3 2005, 10:59 AM

I love how the camera makes my hair look so shiny! Notice how long my bangs are getting! The jury is still out on the whole bang (or as they say in the U.K. "fringe") thing. I do think that I look older with out them.

They came last week and they are lovely! My photo does not do them justice! I have worn a pair everyday since I got them.

Better pics of my new sticks.

February 3 2005, 11:16 AM

Here are some photos that Fox sent me of my sticks. She definitely takes better pictures than I. Notice the smaller white and blue pair in the first photo. Those are some that I got for my friend Carrawayseed to use for making half up-do's. I must admit, it was hard to give them away once I saw them. They are beautiful! (They all are!)

Look at what I made! (Storage for hairtoys pics.)

February 3 2005, 11:20 AM

I was inspired by TheaEvanda (sorry if I spelled the name wrong!) who said that she had crocheted something to store her hair toys. I am sorry that the quality of my photos is not the best. Before, everything was jumbled in a basket. Now I don't have to dig around to find what I want. I just have to figure out some way to keep up with my scrunchies and ponytail holders.

Here is a picture of what I made:

The scrunchie solution...

February 3 2005, 11:23 AM

Okay, here is what I did with my scrunchies. I went to my knitting supplies and got my biggest stitch holder which is essentially like a giant safety pin. Then I put my scrunchies on it and wove it through the bottom of my crocheted organizer. Voila!!

I also took a smaller stitch holder, pinned it on the side and used it to hold my regular ponytail elastics.

I moved the Good Hair Days Pins that were on the bottom and just hung them along the side of my crocheted thingamajiggy. (I just need to come up with a nifty name for it and market it. hee! hee!) I might try to crochet one that is wider, but not quite so long. The design options are endless.

Little girl's barrettes now organized too!

February 3 2005, 11:30 AM

Here is an easy way to store barrettes so that you can find what you are looking for. If you wanted to make one for an adult, just use wider ribbon and a bigger D-ring!

Skeeter's Shea Skin Souffle as a deep conditioning treatment.

February 5 2005, 7:36 AM

A day or two ago I decided to try out Skeeter's Shea Skin Souffle on my hair. I just wet my hair down well and then slathered it with the souffle. I covered it with a plastic shower cap and then topped it with my warm Microcap. I left it in for about an hour and then CWC (condition, wash, condition) in the shower. It worked pretty well. My hair felt soft and manageable, not at all greasy. I think it worked pretty nicely.
