I finally have a pic of my kitchen layout. It's a pretty simple galley kitchen. One wall (with window) is 16.5 ft and other wall (w/ cooktop) is 12.5 ft. The width (wall to wall) is 8 ft. The cabinets are cherry - autumn spice - and the floor and countertops will be lighter colors. The ceilings are 9 ft. There will be about 1 ft. of space above the wall cabs and we will use over and under cab lighting. The only other lighting in the kitchen proper will be one or two small pendants over the sink. We are replacing one long flourescent ceiling fixture. Yes, I know some of you prefer flourescent, but I really want IC.
However, I've never had to "design" a lighting layout - forget the wiring - DH will have to figure that out. I just need to tell him where to make the holes in the ceiling!
Help me figure out how many recessed lights I need in this layout, please!!
