DVD: MSP's Yearbook

November 21 2004, 12:37 PM

Just got MSP's latest movie, Yearbook, as a going away present from me ma. Anyone else seen it yet?

To be honest I was a little bit dissappointed with the whole thing and wished she had got me Focused instead (saw it in a bar and thought it was way better).

There weren't enough flips/inverts (if any) that didn't invlove having a parachute attached after jumping of an unlandable cliff. All the park stuff was samey and several of my favourite riders had a crap seasons filming (Seth, Eric Pollard, Hugo Harrison, etc). I suppose thats the nature of the game, you can't always get the best footage all the time. I may even go as far to say that Ski Movie 3 from two years ago was better.

Anyway, enough from me (it was a gift any, ungrateful sod that I am), there are loads of other good DVD's still to collect that should keep me entertained.

Year Book

November 21 2004, 2:02 PM

I just bought Year Book on Friday and have watched it a couple of times.

I was dissapointed with Seth boy's section, everyone always waits to see what he has come up with but you can't complain because he was injured.

I thought Ingrid Backstrom totally rips. Well impressed with her segment.
McKonk continues to push the boundries of where you can ski.

Any one know what happened Pep last season?

Awsome crash segment, Hugo's were well impressive. I guess if you don't fall for 3 years then there gonna be big when they eventually come.

Good film, puts a smile on your face. I think it needs to be watched a lot to be fully appreciated.

Mike Wilson. F*********k!!!!

Mike Wilson - Jeeeezzzo

November 21 2004, 8:11 PM

Here Mitch, you hit the nail on the head there. Mike Wilson's flipty-flip thingy is double hardcore!!

That and Hugo's stack is pretty sick. If you're gonna fall I suppose you have to do it in style.

Adam, are you heading out to Verbier soon? I'm driving to Morzine to be there for the 5th. Mutzig party here we come!

How about the Conk taking a tumble off that cliff in Yearbook? He must have had to empty his pants after that one.

I'm with you Mitch, Backstrom rocks. She's a really solid skier and throwing that big ol' front flip off a cliff makes her the one of the best female athletes we've seen for a while.

I love snow.

Hi Dave,

Take a look at Soul Purpose from TGR. We we're down at the Scottish premier in Edinburgh and it was a hoot.

There is also Stimulus from Team 13

Check out www.x-tremevideo.com

If you want a movie featuring park, backcountry and freesking, filmed almoxt entirely in europe, try "pass it on" its def better than "soul purpose" which I was a bit dissapointed in.
Pep Fugas- blew his knee out at the end of 2003, hence he's not in the vidios much, if any of you have seen "session 1242" from last season you'll know how dissapointed I am about that.

The Scanners

February 21 2005, 11:57 AM

Just bought myself The Scanners from ebay for £4.90.

If you have a few spare quid then this is well worth the money.
It is by Push Films, featuring the likes of Jon Ollson, Henrik Winstead, Nikolas Klastrom, Stain Hagen & some more scandies plus Pep, Anthony Bornowski, Boyd Sleazy, Dummont.

A lot of the footage has been seen before in movies from PBP & MSP but there are some alternative angles, and some new bits & bobs.

Mainly a JIb flick with loads of rails & big booters.

It is well worth the money. There are lots of alternative sections in the bonus section plus a really pissed Norweigen guy at 2am in Narvik who is hillarious. Chris O'Connel pisses on him whilst he is playing up for the camera.

The shop www.tonix.net also has the Ski Movie box set by MSP, all three ski movies plus a best of MSP. If you don't own these movies you should.

Check it out

Cheap DVD's

April 28 2005, 10:44 AM

Just thought I would share my good fortune with you.

If you are looking for some ski porn to keep you amused over the long summer months then look on e-bay, under the 'Other' section in Ski. There is a shop in Germany selling a 5 pack of this seasons DVD's. I got them for £14 the lot. That's a saving of about £80 on the rrp. Bonus!

High Five
Pass It On
Jusimi
Volume 11
Volume 12

It's a deal. It's a steal!
