You both make good arguments but I think both sides will continue to have their passions one way or the other. I always go back to my comparison of Alexander to Braveheart.
Before Braveheart came out, I didn't really know or care about William Wallace or who he was. But after seeing the movie, I was intrigued by the man and his legacy. In fact I went to the bookstore and read more about him.
Conversely, before Alexander I didn't know much about the man. After seeing the film, I still don't care about him.
I think it's that simple.
