Movie watching is definitely a subjective pastime. It affects different people in different ways. That's what makes it so entertaining to talk about.
However, you can't ignore the fact that across the world the film has received a much less than stellar reception from not only critics but also average movie-goers. The film is a bomb from many respects: box-office; critical;fans; non-fans, etc. The larger majority of people not only dislike this film, but it shows up on many people's (critics and non-critics) worst of 2004 lists. Surely, you can't ignore that fact.
That you praise the film is kind of like saying "I don't care what all my doctors say, I'm not insane, the rest of the world is just crazy." it would be one thing if opinions were split across society on this movie, but not only are they not split, they are nearly unanimous in favor that this thing sucks.
It's great that you loved the film, but your efforts to say that everyone else doesn't know what they are talking about are simply futile. |
