Good job.

That video was nice and clear. How fancy of a video camera do you have? You must be rolling in the dough, being able to carve that fast...smile.

Thanks Cindy . No I'm sooooooooo not rolling in the dough lol I'm actually using my old digital camera that I bought like three years ago. You know us guys we never read the directions. I just this last week opened up the user manual. I found out uploading videos and also found out why my camera been giving me fuzzy detail shots for the last year. One button !

On a side note is it bad to show how fast you can block this out? It takes a little more to finish but I did have a client today comment on this video already!! About it will be hard to sell if they see it made that fast. I said yeah 6 minutes and 16 years. ? Do they want to see us sweat?

We also have a video camera that is about 3-4 years old that we have not used. I guess we need a firewire or something to upload to the computer, so we put it away and forgot about it.

It seems that there are two sides two carving, one is the entertainment aspect, the other is the art. I see people make carvings in 30 minutes in Europe and they auction off for pretty good money. So it seems that people do realize there is a value for the art, no matter how quickly it is produced. I think the bigger worry is that others will see the video and decide they can make the carving themselves and then discover they have a way to make a quick buck. But hey, how many people even own a chainsaw these days...I think you are safe doing what ever you decide....it is fun and entertaining to watch.

speed vs value?

June 26 2009, 11:36 PM

It took me a long time to get a "basic" fast face . I was just playing around . It is a shame that some people seem to think something can't be made fast. likes as we get better where suppose to lower are price to compensate for the speed! lol

I think it be cool to see some other videos of quick carves by other carvers.
