Bailey's is offering what looks to be one hell of a seminar in October of this year out on the west coast, with Susan Miller, Dennis Beach,Mike McVay,Ken Tynan,Jeff Samodusky and others.It looks like a seminar where no matter what your skill level is , you can walk away with a wealth of knowledge. Here is the link for more info:

It don't look like Baileys is putting it on and sponsoring it, it looks like the students will be sponsoring it at these prices
Price

* $1,995 - *Package #1: Includes Tanaka Chainsaw Carving Package, a $400 value
*IMPORTANT NOTE: Shipping chainsaws and/or attempting to carry them on the airlines can be difficult and cumbersome. Additionally, it will be helpful for the learning experience and saw maintenance during the Boot Camp if most or all students are using the same equipment. For these reasons, we strongly urge students to take advantage of Package #1 which includes the Tanaka Chainsaw Carving Package (for only an additional $200, you will receive the Tanaka Package which normally sells for twice that price)

* $1,795 - Package #2: Bring your own carving chainsaw, chain loops, files and any other additional maintenance supplies (excluding gas and oil)

WTF?

July 5 2009, 12:51 PM

I don't know why my original post came up as spineless/anonymous but it was me that made the post.Call it as you see it, but it is being held on Bailey's property,and although it is wayyyyy overpriced for a two day seminar,I figured it might be of interest to someone who has an interest in learning some tips from what I feel safe to say are masters of the trade.One major concern that absolutely should not be overlooked is "they reserve the right to modify or change curriculum or teachers without notice". For that kind of money, I would want a guarantee in writing of exactly who was teaching what.You are paying $1800.00 minimum. For that kind of money I would accept nothing less. -ken trapp

wow, $2K!

I'd love to go to a class like this, and be willing to shell out some $$$ to do so. It's even an hour away from me.

I think my mind-blowing, eye-opening trip to Ridgway cost much less for airfare, food, hotel, rental car, etc.

Add a couple days, give us a chance to carve alongside the pros, and pick up tips & tricks on our own projects, and I'd be in. Regardless, I hope they fill the class.

Maybe I could go as support staff/groupie/stalker.
