Hello Fourm, I posted below and got alot of great response, Thanks to all who responded. I now created a login acct. as one individual (Lance) said he had a step by step for a bear that he could send me. Again yesterday I spent the whole day carving trying to carve a decent bear, and I seem to get the body down, but I just cannot get the head to look good, my bear faces are HORRIBLE!! I live in central Wisconsin and I have been putting in my blood, sweat and tears into this and I absolutely enjoy this art/hobby but for some reason I just cannot get a decent bear head/face to turn out so if any experienced carvers out their have ANY advice, step by step pictures or anything that you may think might help a new carver get started on carving a decent caricature, real, or mixed bear face/head or the whole project, I would love to hear from you!!!!
Thanks for taking your time to read my post and I look forward to any advice I can get
I have forwarded you a step by step, If you have trouble, feel free to call or send me your phone number. If I don't answer just leave a message, I miss a lot of calls when the saws are running. Good Luck and Welcome to the Carving world, I'm sure you will find it a roller coaster ride, lol

Lee,Where in central Wisconsin are you?I can show you some basics in carving.I have properties in Adams,Portage and Waupaca counties that I carve out of.I put my email address up.I'm headed off to work,so don't expect a reply until early tommorrow when I get home.If you carve with me its up to you to have your own eye and ear protection and a sturdy pair of shoes, preferably safety shoes. If you don't have chaps I can lend you a pair.No tennis shoes or shorts, for safety reasons. I don't have all the answers but I'm sure I can help you. -ken trapp
