I would like to Thank RD, Vicki and Rd's father for the awesome week of carving. The comradery was great. I would like to thank Tim Barker and Dave Meyer for all the advice and loaning of their equipment. It was a pleasure visiting with all the carvers. Also a big thanks to Ken Trapp for his untiring efforts of helping to keep the comp running smoothly, and thanks for the table(you are a hard worker). This was truly a AAA+ organized professional event. Thanks for the invitation, I had a great/fun time. I am looking forward to seeing you all again.
Lance, It was my pleasure working with all of the carvers and the Loghogger Staff. Its always interesting working around the different carvers, watching how they develope their sculptures, how they block out, what saws they are using at the different stages, and what other tools and techniques they use for finishing.I was really impressed with the speed and artistic ability of both Ryan Anderson from the West coast and Travis out of Jason Emmons shop, Bear Hollow.I was to busy loading up the auctioned off pieces in the customers vehicles, and didn't get a chance to hear the final outcome. Do you know who placed where? I have a bunch of pictures from the event transferred to a CD, but am too photoshop challenged to post them. See you later this year!I will try to get copies sent to both Milt and Vicki later this week.-ken
Lance and Ken, well said. Chaz and I both share these sentiments. Lance, I promise we'll e-mail you pictures ASAP. Hopefully in the next couple of days. Ken, I'm sure Ann or Vicki will have a better list, the only standings I can remember for sure are: 1st place: Travis Reed, 4th place: Ryan Anderson, 8th place: Chaz Neighbors. Hopefully a real list will be coming soon.
Thanks to both of you for all of your help and it was great meeting you two!
Hi Ann
I think, it went for much less than it should have, but more than you offered, lol I would have loved to just give it to you. I think it went for between $120.00 and 140.00. I guess that is what is expected from auctions, so I can't complain. I just enjoyed the chance to meet other carvers and learn.
PS: Milton told me he was going to carve you one, hold him to it.lol Thanks for bringing me the order. I think Milton was right, the orange SD, and DD is much too aggressive, I may have to buy a yellow or green disk also.
Lance it was a pleasure working next to you for the week and thanks for helping me out when my equipment failed. Also a big thanks to Tim Barker for assisting with my troublesome saw. Again and again. It was also great to meet the rest of the new crew and see the returning carver's again. Travis, Jason, Joe and Ryan all set the bar very high and did a amazing job. Chaz and Desire keep pushing each other and it will pay off in the end.
RD, Vicki, Ron, Ken and the rest of the crew thanks for all the help and the smooth operation.
Just in town for a few days to get Nic registered in school and then back out on the road again. I want to thank each and everyone of you. It is truly our pleasure to have such a great group of carvers and friends that makes it work together! We truly could not do it without all of you! It's a lot of work but the outcome in the end is so rewarding! Here are the placements, then I'm off to the Jr.High to get my baby taken care of.lol
