Grandmaster Lee indicated to me during the Cheongju World Martial Arts Festival where this same symbol was used that this was a powerful creature that was once the enemy of Soohojimoo warriors. This bird is said to have lifted men into the air with its three claws. That warriors were afraid of this creature is a true testament to its power. We have chosen the two-legged version designed by Grandmaster Lee as a symbol representing the power of this creature but in harmony with Koguryo warriors.
