DO

Yes Adi we know you like to make a point of not going. as well as being a piss up they are also a social gathering and a chance to meet new mates with the same interests, its very disheartening making the effort to put these events on and scooterists cant be bothered to turn up.
Err…I think you missed my point, referring to your previous posting “we need to have a bit of a turnout for that as if we dont attend theirs, they aint going to attend ours” which doesn’t seem a very good reason to go anywhere to me.
I did however get your point and will not post in this manner again (sorry).
Although I must point out that I bought my ticket for the Grasp gig before Xmas, as I have supported all of the East Point Drifters Scooter Club dos since joining the club.
I may only stay a short while but I do buy a ticket.
Happy New Year, Adi

When reading text somethings can be taken out of context,i do write a lot of 'tongue in cheek' stuff and will continue doing so, but i would say that in the Fighting Cocks in my Cheeky Chappy way you would know its banter, which dont come across on text (jovial sarcasm), but i aint gonna stop Ha!

Do's
December 30 2006, 11:21 PM
Ah! the other thing,if no one turned up for these do's no one would bother putting any on, 80% of Scooterists enjoy either Northern, Ska, Mod, Indie, Punk or 2Tone, where else can you go to hear this music, and its also the chance for a get together with mates from out of town who you wouldnt see during the Winter months.
Its not a 'im not coming to yours if your not coming to mine'incident all im saying is it would look better if we had a good attendance, i appreciate you dont like that side of Scootering and theres nothing worse than being somewhere you dont want to be, you boring git (just kidding!) Merry new year!!
Andy you’re a fine chap whose company I enjoy greatly.
I think I will have to buy an old Vespa and join the Vintage Vespa Club of GB; their activities seem a little more sedate.
I listen to a much wider variety of music thanks to my Scootering chums and enjoy Northern Soul but aren’t very keen on two tone, ska is okish (old stuff only) and I kinda exhausted my punk batteries years back. I also like RnB, new and old!
I think its good that we are putting on a new act (Grasp).
Of course not having been into the scooter scene in the eighties much of the “Rally Sound” does not stir any memories in me. I guess I would need to go to Status Quo gig for that!!
Have a good celebration Buddy!

Im fine ta , thanks for asking. Yeah Andy some of us are going still hope to find out who Wednesday night, Ill keep you informed as to who, how etc.
I understood your post , sadly it seems that you have a point, you only have to look at the veiled threats of attendance on other sites to see that people do think this way, No-one should be forced to attend something, just because they ride a scooter doesnt mean they are are in to the music/lifestyle.And if the whole world worked in this way there would only ever be small events put on by the same few for the same few to attend, that would sound a death nell to the scene (example; someone cant get a babysitter so cant attend a do the 1st time are they then not welcome at the next?)
Oh and I liked your banter you 2 at least it got a topic moving on the forum.
But bloody hell this started the new year on a happy note, everyone should smile more and moan less in 2007.
I think the rally / scooter piss-up scene will change a lot when the 1979 Mod revialist / Scooterboy / Pshcobilly chaps are no longer of an age to organise events.
I hope sufficient new music is included to interest younger folk (and me, isnt the Biff Bam Pow music exciting BTW)?
