but maybe selecting "me-too" to describe this was not the best choice of words. One can speculate why he did it- It could be another selling point for his watches, it could be because he likes gold, it could be to demonstrate Montres Journe's ability to machine parts in-house, it could be just to be different. It could even be as you said because of insecurity (although I personally disagree and doubt this is the reason). F.P. Journe is very well liked in Geneva and the watchmaking community, and has won many awards for his work. "Insecure" isn't a word I would use to characterize him.
But whatever the reason you can hardly argue that he is following some other brand or industry trend to make gold movements. I think that's the point that Daniel was making before.
