Response to The photos

The photos of the crime scene don't come anywhere near the horror of the morgue photos. They're easily found on the Internet, so I'm not going to give anyone a url. To me, the morgue photos, which are NOT supposed to be made public, being made available to the public is an outrage. Ms. Short has sisters who are still living, and I understanding that Ms. Short's niece is trying to get those pictures removed from those sites.

I can imagine that is must not be easy for her family. The Black Dahlia is a particularly hot commodity these days being that yet another "I Know Who Killed Her" book is due to released tomorrow (I think there are 4 or 5 already in print), and the movie based on the James Ellroy novel coming out later this year. That's not to mention the "Black Dahlia" computer game and the heavy metal band who calls itself "Black Dahlia Murder".

Ultimately, Elizabeth Short did get her wish. She is famous and she is remembered. Unfortunately.
