Progesterone?

If I have to much estrogen do I need to take some type of herb that contains Progesterone to balance my hormones? What type of herbs contain Progesterone?

i have been researching the same thing and i keep coming back to vitex, agnus castus. so i will be buying that tomorrow. good luck. some have recommended bovine ovary too.

If you are certain that you're estrogen dominant, then you can buy natural progesterone cream and use it during the second half of your cycle. Otherwise, I would suggest using the wild yam cream.

Yes, balance is key! Too much estrogen can lead to breast cancer, so to counteract estrogen's cancer-causing effects you need to take progesterone to balance your hormones out (It's like in most birth control pills, how you'll find they contain both estrogen & progesterone). Anyway, Chaste Tree (a.k.a. Chasteberry, Vitex, or Agnus Castus) is an herb used for progesterone. Wild Yam is *thought* to have progesterone/phytoestrogen (mainly because of anicent historical uses), but from all my reasearch it does not. So I'd stick with Chaste Tree.

Thanx ladies. I'll check out some of the herbs in holland and barrett. The only one I remember seeing is wild yam, the others don't ring a bell.
