Thanx

I would say it depends on what your bloating is from. Angus castus is good for PMS symptoms, one of which is bloating, but that is from fluid retention. I say since you would get it for free and Angus works to balance hormones it is worth the shot.

The cause of bloating?

Im not sure what the bloating is from. After about a week on the herbs my stomach bloated. How can you tell what the cause of the bloating is. How can you tell if its water retention?

Thanx

I am not taking herbs, but it sounds to me like you are having a problem with one of the herbs you are taking. I remember reading that some have trouble with fennel. You are probably experiencing gastric bloating (extra gas) which the Angus probably won't help you with. You would do better to reduce or eleminate some of your herbs and/or increase your fiber intake. I think some have used red clover to help with gastric bloating. Please somebody else correct me if I am wrong.

Just read another post of your where you stated you stopped taking herbs two months ago. I agree with the others - a check up by your doctor would be good. It could be as simple as weight gain caused by the herbs or it could be something more serious. I think you should make sure you are healthy before trying something else.

But could it really be weight gain. I only took them for 11 days.

It depends on how much weight we are talking about. There are plenty of people who will tell you they can pack on 5 or more pounds easily in a week. Excess estrogen or low progesterone can elevate cortisol and that causes fat to be deposited around the belly. I still am not sure exactly what you are describing. Too bad we can't attach pictures to our posts on this forum.

Unless you have been eating more or changed your diet in some way I can't see how it could be actual weight gain. Even though you are not taking herbs anymore, it sounds like you have tipped your hormones out of balance and may take a couple of cycles to correct it again. I'm no expert, it just seems logical to me. I would say definitely give vitex a go. Good Luck.

I don't think its weight gain because my belly is hard and there is no fat there. I will definitely give vitex ago.

Hi
I was taking PM for a while but suffered with terrible late, heavy and painful periods. I was also so so bloated and felt generally ill. I stopped the PM and am just finishing my first month of Vitex ( 2x 500mg) per day. i also started taking Aloe Vera colon cleanse 1 a day tablets from Holland and Barrett. They are wonderful for bloating and my stomach feels so much better. They contain Aloe Vera Gel(leaf), Buckthorn extract(bark), Dandelion extract(root),Fennel extract(seed), Gentian extract(root), Horehound extract(leaf and stem), liquorice extract(root) and Rhubarb extract(root). Not being crude but they dont make me go to the loo any more than normal but my stomach feels much less bloated.
Ash x
