Do you mean the books of Suzanne Sommers? Which one is the most interesting and should you read the first one to understand her principles? Are you allowed to drink wine following her diet? I gained some weight being on NBE (have a belly now!) that I urgently want to loose, but I'm scared to loose my breasts. Perhaps I will just do pilates every day (video), still don't know
Yes, I do mean the Suzanne Somers books. I've got six of her books (two being dessert! :-)) and the only one I don't recommend is her first, Eat Great and Lose Weight, only because she wrote it before she understood a lot of things--like what really causes cholesterol (not fats!) and how hormones are the driving force behind weight control. When she wrote that book, it was like she knew what worked and didn't but not why, and the why is crucial. :-) So her recipes are fantastic there, though, so it's still a good buy, but read it AFTER the others.
The ones I recommend are any of her later ones, like Fast&Easy and Eat, Cheat and Melt the Fat Away in particular. I think she's even written a new one since I've purchased mine. She repeats her program in detail and most everything else in every book so you don't have to buy all of them. I got all mine used on Amazon for about $30! I believe it's Fast&Easy that has the intro by Dr. Laura Scwarz-asomething--this is the must have, IMHO. Both of mine are lent out so I can't check which one has the intro, but if you can afford it get both.
You are definitely allowed wine on her program, but not until Level Two as wine is a type of sugar. All sugars are eliminated in Level One except for fruits and vegetables (which are technically a starch/carb). On Level Two you totally chose your "cheats"--you cheat away until you find the amount you can handle without putting on weight again.
