hi all just read something that i would like to put past you. i was going to buy tyrosine for increasing my body temperature until i read that tyrosine also increases brown spots on the face.....production of melanin. i have been producing more and more brown spots on my face even with the use of sunscreen and i dont understand why. im upset about it too cos i used to have really clean skin. anyhow after reading that i dont think i would be using tyrosine to increase my body temp. i think gingko biloba is a safe bet. now there isnt anything thing i can do to get rid of my pigmentation but hey i dont want anymore coming!

i just wanted to help you guys just like you help me and loads of other girls in this forum.

hi cutevelvet

sorry that you're having problems with your skin. I know how frustrating it is to have those nasty brown spots..I got a terrible 'pregnancy mask' when I was pregnant with my son, brown spots everywhere. It took forever to get rid of most of it, First I tried bleaching cream from Walgreens, with Hydroquinone in it, which didn't do anything, but then I started doing lactic acid peels and that has gotten rid of it. I even went to the beach earlier this past summer and the spots came about again really bad from the sun and I even used a high sunscreen, but with consistently using the lactic acid peels they have went away again. I use the lactic acid peel once a week. Here's a link in case you're interested, the sample kit is like $20 and I've been using mine for the past year and still have half the bottle left, plus it really makes my face look younger:

Also another thing that brightens my face is: 'Madre Perla' it's bleach cream made with 100% pure Mother-of-pearl powder. I used this the next day after the beach and even my mom noticed a difference that the brown spots were not as bad. I got this one at Walmart.

Hope this helps.

hey cutevelvet

the glycolic acid is more potent than the lactic acid and is used mainly for deep cleaning of your pores and acne marks...lactic acid is more gentle, but is better for hyperpigmentation problems, brown spots, freckles, etc. Plus the formula I have of lactic acid has licorace extract in it, which has excellent lightening qualities.

I just checked out the stuff you mentioned 'dermabrite' and it sounds really good, it also has the licorace extract in it so it may work for you. Good luck to you I hope it works. Also, just be careful after using any whitening creams and going in the sun, your skin will be supersensitive to the sun and it's easy to get those spots back again. I know I've learned the hard way on that one. :)

ooops sorry!

forgot to answer one of your questions....I noticed a difference that the brown on my cheeks especially started fading after about 3 lactic peels. Cause after you use just 1 peel, it takes your skin about 17 days I think it is, to regenerate new cells and have 'newer' skin.

brown spots & progesterone cream

December 18 2006, 9:53 PM

Cutevelvet Hi!!! I have had 2 kids with no 'pregnancy mask' then whilst using implanon contraceptive it came out all over my forehead.....grrrrrr......I read that the use of progesterone Wild Yam cream (correctly only days 15 to 28 of cycle) can reverse it as it can be caused by progesterone imbalance. I have been using it for 1.5 cycles & they are getting lighter already! It took 7 months for them to appear so I figure it will take that long for them to disappear......& since my NBE project is just ongoing I may as well keep it up.....just thought this may interest you!!!
Cheers,
Lilly
