| So are we taking fenugreek or fennel in vain because they contain high content of phytoestrogen?
I just started on vitex because I heard that it is supposed to balance our hormonal level. But I just read another article that says it is for reducing estrogen and increasing progesterone. I am pretty sure I am not estrogen dominant but I do have PMS, which means I am progesterone deficit. However, in another thread someone said that if you are estrogen dominant, you should be progesterone deficit. However I am pretty sure I am not estrogen dominant. Can any one help on this? I don't want to be eating the wrong things and now I am doing a fenugreek and vitex mix, is it fine? |

30. I have been told I have very low estrogen levels, yet I fit into the symptoms of estrogen dominance. How can this be?
According to Dr. John Lee who first coined the phrase “estrogen dominance”, it describes a condition in a woman’s body where she has deficient, normal, or excessive estrogen but has little or no progesterone to balance its effects in the body. Therefore, even a woman with low estrogen levels can be estrogen dominant.
