So I finally bought my herbs. . .thankfully the cashier person was a clueless man. But anyway, I bought fenugreek, saw palmetto, wild yam, vitex, fennel, and red clover. I'm taking two capsules of each in the day and evening. Does anybody think this is too much? I know some people have bad results from taking too many at the same time just at the beginning, but other people have had results, so. . .
I guess I'm taking my chances.
But anyway. . .just to make sure: I can't overdose on herbs, right? They're not drugs, technically, right? I don't take any other medications and I'm not on the pill, so it's not like they can interfere with other medicines.
Lol. I just don't want to end up taking too many herbs and then end up dying from an "overdose."
If you take too high doses of herbs, you can 'stall', meaning that you can't grow. Also you body gets used to them sooner. In most cases it realy makes no difference whatsoever if you take a small/medium dose or a high dose, I think either because the transport capacity of your blood circulation reaches maximum, or all the receptors are already occupied, so don't overdo it, you'll only waste herbs and spend more money.
So which ones should I start with? And when should I add the others?

hmm, you know i think even if they're just herbs there is such thing as overdose! like even vitamins, if you take too much of vitamin A you might increase the risk of fractures! so i believe everything you do or consume should be done in moderation.. =)
FG, SP, RC, borage oil (that's a must) and possibly fennel would be a good routine if you have excess progesterone.
FG, SP, WY, borage oil and possibly fennel would be good if you lack progesterone.
Both of these combinations are for lack of estrogen as well.
Borage is especially good with a lower to moderate dose of SP, because it helps transforming androgens into estrogens, while SP gets rid of excess androgens (and we can only get estrogens from androgens),so SP is usually a great help, but shouldn't be taken a too high dose.
Vitex is for a more serious progesterone deficiency, if 'm not mistakin.
As for the doses, herbs with estrogenic activity should add up to 1800 to 2400 mg a day. Taking a high dose usually doesn't make any difference to takign a low/medium for growth, while improving your circulation does. Good luck!
Moon, I don't have a hormone imbalance. Would it be a good routine then?
Oh, and when I said "overdose" I wasn't referring to an NBE kind of overdoes. I was talking about the kind of overdose in which if you take too many pills you die. Like say if I wanted to commit suicide (which I don't) me taking like ten pills of five different herbs would really kill me the way sleeping pills might. It might be a silly question, but for someone who rarely ever needs to take pills, knowing that I'm going to eventually be taking about eight to ten pills consecutively twice a day. . .it seems kind of scary.
I guess I'm going to start off with the basic herbs: fenugreek, saw palmetto, fennel, and wild yam. I know wild yam isn't really looked at as such a basic herb on these forums, but it seems like women on other health forums look at it as a pretty basic necessity, so I guess I'll just try it.
if u take too many mg of an herb, it can cause nausea, diarrhea, lightheaded, things likd that. extremely rare. u arent taking enough for that too happen. good luck on ur routine!
