my sister just called saying my nephew got hit by a car and is possibly dead. she is on her way to the hospital and will let of know as soon as she knows anything. he is 18 with a bright future in basketball. think of him please. thank you.

all these beautiful words. thank you all. i remember him as a baby. my very 1st nephew, the one who made me an aunt. he had grown into this beautiful man. played basketball well enough to have scouts from colleges looking at him. he was working last night. not hanging out like most high school seniors during xmas vacation. he was crossing the highway to get to the gas station where he worked. he got hit with such force. died on impact. female driver, hit and run. dont know what else to say.
Oh Diana, I'm really, really sorry!! :-( This is just awful. The exact thing happened to my cousin 2 years ago. It was a semi-truck driver. Really horrible. If there's anything you need or anything we can do we are here. You are your family are in my prayers.

I was so shocked and sorry to read about your nephew, it is so horrible to lose someone, especially someone that young. My condolences to you and your family.
I'm sorry for the lost of your nephew Diana. I often say in my prayers at night for God to bless all those who passed for the day. I hope they had a easy and smooth crossing and for God to bless and comfort their family, relatives and friends. I will be praying for your family. It's never easy for one taken so young, suddenly, and with such apromising future. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
it is so much easier to share your sorrows when they are carried on many shoulders and not just on your own. today was the viewing and my sister was quiet most of the day. she is smiling now. surrounded by family friends and his peers. i have been crying on and off but crying cleanse the soul and i feel better. thank you for all the prayers. they have helped. i love you girls. thanks. (and you too twink!) missed a day on brava. oh well. i just have to keep on going. (thanks carol anne.)

The burial was today. everything went well. my brother in law is withdrawn into himself and refuses to talk. my niece and older sister have lost weight. and my little sister missed the whole mass this morning because of an accident on the Grand Central Parkway. but she made it to the burial and is hanging out with the family. if it is not one thing its another. my husband had to in to the emergency room this morning. he has a kidney infection. borderline something i couldnt understand. thanks.

Diana, lots of love to you, thinking about you and your family.
i lost a daughter. my older sister lost a son. granted things happen in 3's. mine in 05. my sis in 06. needless to say my little sister is terrified with this little pattern. she only has a 5 yr old son. and she was the one who noticed the pattern. so she will be on edge until 2008. my husband is doing better. thank you all for your kind thoughts and prayers.
My thoughts are with all those who have lost a child. I couldn't even begin to imagine the grief a parent or relative would go through... it just doesn't seem fair that it could happen.
Diana, I am so sorry that this happened. I have a son and can't imagine the pain that your sister is feeling, and your whole family. I have thought of you alot since this happened, I posted to you days ago but it did not appear.
When I lost my dad suddenly and without warning, this image helped me to realize how happy he is now.

To all who cant imagine losing a child, think of this: when a person loses their spouse, they are called a widow or widower. lose a parent? orphan. lose a child, he its your first some dont even consider you a parent anymore. but there is no name for this tragedy. only pain, because natural law dictates we are not supposed to outlive our offspring. we get lost in grief just like everyone else. thank you.
