Melting cocoa butter

Tonight I decided to get out the cocoa butter sticks that I bought a month ago and do a night massage, which I haven't taken the time to do before. I melted mine buy putting a glass dish cover over a candle. It only took less than a minute.

I have read here that some melt theirs in a microwave, but that may not be a good idea. I will give you a link that describes what microwaving does to food, it alters it, so it's probably not good to use a zapped product on your breast either, since you want to avoid carcinogins in that area. I couldn't find the link to the story about using water zapped in the microwave to germinate seeds, they wouldn't germinate, while seeds from the same pack did fine in plain water. I read that a while ago.

Well, I thought I would share with you. I stopped using the microwave for cooking a little over a year ago. I only heat in it rarely, and that's if it takes less than 2 minutes. Most of the time, I use the oven or a sauce pan on the stove. It takes more time and more dishes to wash, but it was just a phobia I developed while researching cancer last year for my mother. Here's the link if you are interested:
