who knows about Pueraria Mirifica?January 11 2007 at 9:31 PM | lassysam (Login lassysam) SENIOR MEMBER |
| I just read the thread about Shells success and pics using this herb, found some on Ebay and was wondering what information there is on this herb. I have looked it up and found very little information it seems. How many have used it in their programs, what were their dosages and any other information there might be. I think there are probably lots of people interested after seeing Shell's pictures. Has anyone out there used Pueraria Mirifica? Please share! :) |

There is a pueraria mirifica forum here, you can find information there. Sadly pueraria mirifica didn't work for me, but that's how it is - different strokes for different folks! |

Hi lassysam,
I've taken PM before under the name of Mirifem, but after seeing Shells results, I did some St Herb research.
According to the ebay seller, the ad says (and I did not know this.....)
**Not all Pueraria is the same. There are 13 different varieties of this species and only the mirifica has these uniquie estrogenic and mamiogenic (breast forming) qualities. Many manufacturers use questionable sources and have no documentation of the source of their pueraria.
Wild grown plants have variable amounts of miroestrol in them. Some have hardly any. With the cultivated selected species you are assured of high potency actives in the products. St herb Pueraria is standardized to contain a minimum of 40 mg of miroestrol per 100 grams of powder. This is considered highest in the industry! VERY FEW Pueraria Products on the market provide validation of the miroestol levels and other actives.

Very interesting if this is true. It could well mean that if one PM product doesn't quite agree with us, then perhaps another may well do.
Am certainly tempted to give St Herb a try.
Love

Thank you miss faery cat for answering my post! (your login name just tickles me I have to say, because my 17 yr old daughter loves cats and we have several) Very good information! I was wondering if anybody out there would be thinking about trying the PM after Shells pictures posted. I actually thought there would be a mad rush! lol! I bought some PM off of Ebay, but it is not St herb I am pretty sure. It is being shipped from Thailand though. We shall see how it goes when I get it. It seemed reasonable enough, about $26.00 including shipping for one bottle of capsules and one bottle of cream of who knows what version of Pueraria Mirifica I am getting! It shall be an adventure. I am a little worried if I will be able to tolerate it. I tried some red clover and I am pretty sensitive to that, but it did seem my body got more use to it gradually.
So, do you think you will be trying it? |

Pueraria mirifica is not new, it's been around for a long time. Plenty of women have tried it and not succeeded with it (including myself), so realistically one success story is unlikely to start a mad rush. |

I may well give it another go in the future. It's got me curious to know that there is 13 different species of it. The one I tried blew me up like the Mitchelin Man........oh yeah, I almost forgot.......gave the most horrendous of period cramps in the world......ever!!!
Me is thinking (probably foolishly) that St Herb just may be different. I'm sure the marketing force behind these products mean us to think this way....haha!!!
Keep me posted as to how things go.
Booby power!!

That is good to know, I will be extremely careful when I try it. And you're right we all react differently. I can hope for now though and try it for myself.
Were there other ingrediants in the kind you tried before?
Still my guess would be the PM causing your problems, especially if it's as strong as they say it is. |

As I recall, there was lots of different kinds of peppers in mirifem. I wondered why at the time, but since the subject of cayenne and circulation has cropped up since, I guess it makes some sense.
Please do be careful though lassysam.......if you are sensitive. I got my stuff from ebay too and contacted a lot of the buyers at the time as I was curious. Hadn't found this forum back then. But everyone I spoke to complained of weight gain, bloating and mega painful periods.
Yes, you are so right when you say, what works for some, won't work for others. But don't thrown in the towel if this doesn't agree with you. Listen carefully to your body. Let your body be your guide. You will find something else that will work for you.
Good luck. I hope it works out for you :-)
