The vitex that's sold around here (BC Canada) comes in 80mg softgels, with a recommended intake of 1 to 3 per day. So that's a max of 240 mg per day. I read that most others are taking 1000 to 1600 mg per day. So what to do ? Take the recommended amount, or take 12 to 20 per day to get to 1000-1600 mg, or is there some super potent Vitex that others are taking? Is taking the recommended amount of up to 240mg per day a waste of time?

As a general rule, I would follow the bottle's instructions unless certain otherwise. I am also from BC, and the vitex in my store is 400mg, but I would not suggest trying to ramp up to match that dosage. Start with three capsules per day, and then if you feel confident about it, you may increase your dosage a little.

if it were extract, that might explain the difference... because 80mg of extract would be about 320mg of non-extract, right?
