I called a hypnotist yesterday. I was calling to find out about help with my smoking problem, but of course I asked about BE as well. She claims BE hypnosis works and has used it on her own daughter. She does 6 sessions. The first is $175.00 and the other 5 sessions are $125.00, or you can pay for them all at once for $575.00! OUCH! I'm going to call some others today and see if I can find someone less expensive.
Now, I need some advice with this ladies, please.
I can't afford the BE hypnosis, but I've got to do something about this smoking problem, badly. I haven't started my BE program because I don't think it will work for me as long as I'm puffing like a chimney, not to mention all the other reasons to quit.
I was considering the welplex shot, but it's very expensive (somewhere around $500.00) but I've been reading about it and I'm not sure I should go that route. I'm looking into hypnosis as an alternative. The hypnotists I spoke to charges $295.00 for 3 stop smoking sessions. Neither of these treaments are guaranteed to work, so I'm hung! I'm also going to call some physicians today and ask about the Chantix or pfitzer smoking pill. Does anyone here know of a good method that wont break my bank account? I'm thinking a combination of ceassation products and hypnosis will do the trick, but so far I can't afford the 2 together. I'll make some more calls today and post back with more info. (I'll be sure to ask about BE hypnosis when I call!)
congratulations on wanting to take the first step! while you are making all there phone calls dont forget to call your local community health clinic. the one that is run by the government. most states have stop smoking or cessation classes that you attend and get free medications. i know michigan and new york do. if you are in the states? hope this helps. good luck!
I spoke to another hynotist today, this one does 3 sessions for BE. The first session is $175.00 and the second 2 are $125.00 each. Self hypnosis CD's are included and 1-3 follow up sessions may be needed. Cheaper than the first one I spoke to, but I would rather go to a woman if I had the money to spend on it. This hynotist claims his partner was a psyhcology professor at Wisconsin Univrstiy and he did a BE hypnosis experiment with a class of 34 women. 32 of the subjects reported a one cup increase. Interesting.
He charges $55.00 more for the smoking hypnosis than she does but less time is needed. I also made an appointment with my Doctor for tomorrow afternoon. I'm going to see if she can prescribe that Chantix pill. I'm also looking into a local smoking therapy clinic at the University Hospital. Anymore suggestion? Wish me luck!
whenever I go to hypnosis forums, i get the impression that hypnosis needs to be done quite a bit. I'm not sure if only six sessions would be enough. oh well, maybe with a real hypnotherapist it's better. guess we'll have to see until someone tries it.

I gave up smoking about 6 months ago, i read a book called the Easy Way to Stop Smoking by Allen Carr, i got it off Amazon for about £3.50, its really weird I dont know why it works but for some reason as soon as i finished reading it i didnt want to smoke any more. Odd, cant explain it, but i dont care as long as it worked. Incidentally, everyone i know who has read the book has given up! got to be worth a go eh?
Thank you for posting this! I'm doing self-hypnosis for BE with CDs/MP3s. Seeing a hypnotist would be best if CDs are given to play in between sessions, etc. from what I understand. You have some good options! I've only been doing this for 3 weeks. 3 months at least are necessary. I listen to my MP3s and do EFT and visualization everyday.
Please post your experiences!

Hey, cheer up, it's not impossible to quit smoking just based on will power. =P That's what I did last year...it's really tough in the beginning though. No matter what, cut with caffeine and sugary stuff too. Have loads of chewing gums (sugar free ones of course) handy and lots of decaf. tea or water. It helps a lot if you first switch to rolling tobacco. Not only is less expensive as it doesn't have so many addictive chemicals.
I have been hearing good things about laser therapy for smoking. I heard that one of my chain smoking friends did it in the beginning of December and walked out never wanting a cigarette, and hasn't smoked since. I did research and it's around $260-300 and alot of places offer free maintenance if you ever need it. Insurance companies are considering covering it, so it must work for alot of people. -- Sissy
Thank you all for your suggestions. I went to my Doctor today and she prescribed me the Chantix pill and claimed it's the best treatment available. It is no more expensive than any of the alternatives i've looked into. The hypnotists I spoke with both included follow-up cd's with all of their therapies, so I think I might try to find a free smoking hynosis download to use in conjunction with the Chantix, along with a support group and that book. If I can't quit while using all of that then something is severely wrong with me!
The only problem I have with this medication is that it's supposed to be taken for 3 months to remain fully effective. I wanted to quit smoking and cleanse my body of all toxins then start my program. This medication blocks nicotine receptors in the brain, I wonder if it would also block breasts receptors? If I cleanse while I'm taking it, I'll be removing it from my system, right? I really don't want to wait 3 months to begin my cleanse and start my program, but I don't wont to waste my money on this medication only to end up smoking again. Argh! What to do?
hi whitney, first of all i want to wish you good luck, have been down that road but hopefully managed to quit for good now.
i know that you want to start doing that cleanse and start with your NBE but it might be better to wait because if you do everything at the same time you might just overload your system and nothing will work properly and you would have spent all that money for nothing. plus i think it has a lot to do with your head, both NBE and quitting, like you really have to make it a focus of your mind and if you do too many things at the same time you won't be able to focus on any of them as much as if you did one thing at a time
but this is just how i would do it, good luck with whatever you decide
oh, and one more thing...is that pill you are taking a nicotine substitute? because if you're still gonna be putting nicotine into your body you might not ba able to cleasne properly, that's one more reason for waiting
