SO, i have been taking the fenugreek, saw palmetto, wild yam and ev. but i have been seriously sick. i feel tingles in my breast and they certainly look bigger, but i feel dizzy, my period is late, and i actually had hot flashes today..i am only 25. this is not good. but has anyone else experienced this. i was told that i am messing up my body and that adding these estrogens causes all sorts of cancer?

Sorry to hear you are not feeling well. i started having stomache issues after about six wks. it was just to the point i was constantly in the bathroom. i have not read anything where nbe has been connected to cancer. some of there herbs react so well with the body. thick hair, strong nails, painless, or at least, less uncomfortable periods, clearer skin, healthier eating habits too. does not seem like a bad deal to me. is that epo in your routine? did you start all the herbs at once? good luck.

In the majority of cases, herbs have no or only good side effects, but on rare occasions, they can cause some bad side effects for someone. This doesn't mean you can't do NBE. Only one herb is causing this negative response and if you identify it, you can try switching it with another herb. It could be also that your body is in genral sensitive to foreign substances you ingest, so it migh be just that you are taking a too high dose. I would advise you to cut each herb from your routine for a week and see if you feel better until you identify the culprit, my bet is on fenugreek though. Then you replace can replace FG with fennel, if it's SP with nettle, I'm not sure abou wild yam, you should do a reasearch on that. Good luck!

I would maybe reduce dosages, or stop completely just now. You may be overdosing on the phytoestrogens, hence the hot flushes, so reduce the Fenugreek and Wild Yam, maybe take the Wild Yam out completely. Dizziness is connected with low blood sugar, so try getting that up. Also take the herbs with meals, that may help.
I hope you feel better soon. Stop with the herbs if it doesn't, it isn't worth getting ill over. You may just have a reaction to one of the herbs so you could come off all of them and try one at a time for a week or so just to see what the culprit is.
Good luck!

Sounds like the fenugreek,, lowering blood sugar,, switch to fennel,, but give yourself a couple of days off herbs,, and then start up again. Type 1 dieabetics use fenugreek to keep blood suagrs down. Also stay away from cinnamin,, this will have the same effect as fenugreek. Two very powerful herbs for dieabetics!!!

how much water are you drinking?

January 25 2007, 12:25 PM

some of these herbs dehydrate, and some of these symptoms are consistent with not enough water.

how much water are you drinking a day? 2-3 liters should be your goal every day. helps to absorb herbs and keeps your body functioning properly.

cut back on the herbs a bit, pinpoint what is making you feel sick, but up your water intake if you havent already...
