Does anyone know what herb messes up your menstrual cycle? I was taking fenugreek, hops and using extra strength wild yam gel and I missed my period and I'm not sure if its because of one of the herbs in particular or if its just all of them. I thought I read somewhere that if fenugreek messes your cycle up that you should take fennel instead or vice versa.... not too sure. Well anyways I've had a lot of growth but I have stopped taking the pills 2 days ago. I would love to continue nbe since I've had such good results already but I'm worried that I will never get my period again. I haven't even been taking all the herbs that I was planning on using. I want to do eve's program but I'm waiting for some soy pills that I ordered. Well if anyone knows about this or knows nbe herbs that wont mess up my cycle let me know. thanks
How long was your period missing? Herbs can prolong he cycle for some people, it's not definite which herb, at least not that I know of. Oh, but here's a thought - you could do NBE for a month or so and then stop to wait to get your period and when it's over continue for a month. Or you could try ruling out separate herbs to see if one is a culprit, but I'd go for the first option, if it results feasible.
I wonder if you could take a herb combo like black and blue cohosh a week or few days before your period is due tha would bring it on...on time. There are many such herbs...I think the strongest is pennyroyal. Wise Woman Herbal for the Childbearing Year (by Susun Weed) has a two page list of "emmenugogs" (I can't remember the correct spelling...sorry)
