I was looking into my contraceptive, after reading a previous thread about bc affecting herbs-
I feel it is important i share with you this peice of info i found out,and the link for further information.
I have consulted my doctors and as usual they were as helpful as ****!they said contact a herbalist!(i still have no idea why St Johns/Goat weed cant be used )
But i know that goat weed is comonly used in NBE products

Does Implanon react/interfere with any drugs?
Not to the same extent that the Pill does. For example, you can take antibiotics without lowering the efficiency of the implant.
However, its effectiveness can be reduced by certain pills, notably ones for tuberculosis such as rifampicin (Rifadin) and rifabutin (Mycobutin) and some drugs for epilepsy such as phenytoin (Epanutin), carbamazepine (Tegretol), phenobarbital and primidone (Mysoline).

Most important: the popular herb St John’s wort should not be used by women who have an implant.

I hope this helps,it was quite alarming to me

i have seen a LOT of interactions between st johns wort and other herbs/chemicals. plus you arent supposed to take it for a long time anyway (dont really know why).

it interferes with ALL birth control, not just the implant... i know that one...

hope all is well with you!!
