do many of you drink? what kind of drinks, as a rule (wine, beer, hard liquor etc)? smoke? cigarettes or not?
how do you find any of the above affect your growth?
Hi,
I have about 2/3 glasses of red wine most nights ( trying to cut back) and smoke the occasional cigarette ( definately trying to stop with patches.) I don't know if it affects the herbs as I have had growth and filling out. Could be a myth that it hinders growth - to stop us ruining our health! Of course I agree it is better not to smoke or drink for all round health reasons. I suppose drinking and smoking do slow the oxygen and blood flow around our bodies so if anything your growth with take longer than if you didn't have these bad habits! :)
I did some research online and maybe red wine is a problem for BE because it contains aromatase inhibitors. Here is one of the many articles I found on this:
I have never smoked in my entire life but I drink the occasional beer or glass of red wine here and there. Not often though, so I can't say that it affects me in any way.
Smoking has got to be bad though since it makes the circulation bad.
I usually just drink on the weekends...but it hasn't seemed to hold anything back...I usually drink liquor sometimes i drink wine, but I find there's too much sugar and calories in it so I try not to...even though it is sooo good! I also smoke on the weekends, when I drink...of course it couldn't hurt anything not to smoke and drink ;)
I mostly choose for red wine because I assumed it would be better for NBE (I thought it was more a warm (yin or yang??) drink than white wine or beer), stupid me, but I'm going to change to white wine (which I like more, especially in the summer). I often drink one glass in the evening, but when I go out (only about 2 times in a month) it may be four or five glasses... I haven't had much growth but I also drink a lot of diet coke which is probably much worse than my wine
Hey all, well the drink smoke thing always gets me.
Now i apprciate some people don't drink n don't smoke, but for those that do don't be ashamed about the ammount you do.
I smoke and i know that some of the people who have done well at NBE also smoke.
Regards to the drink, im only young and i love a drink or FEW-lol, i thaught the same about red wine, i swaped larger for the wine, but as im on a diet at the moment iv changed to gin diet lemonade and a dash of lime, and its scrummy-
There was a tread a while ago about beer that made you grow boobies-Lol
but in honersty i have no idea if it is afecting my program or not,if some one said i guarantee you will grow a cup size if u stop drinking i would but as no one has, lets get the drinks in.
Im sure il get a bashing yet again for my thaughts but hey
Well, we can't avoid EVERYTHING right? I don't drink coffee but I am a total tea addict and I love coca cola. I've cut down rather a lot since I started NBE but I am not going to quit it altogether. I like it too much.
I drink red wine 3 to 4 nights a week, sometimes liquor on the weekends. Haven't noticed a difference during phases when I don't drink at all, so I'm not sure that this level of alcohol intake has any effect.
hmmm whenever i smoke a few cigs (which happens rarely) i appear to shrink. i was wondering if it's related to the cortisole levels. i imagine this wouldn't be the case if somebody smoked regularly.
i haven't quite figured out the drinking part...
FF-I have cut back on caffine, i used to glug cola and coffee, and in honersty i feel better since i stopped, dont know if it has aided me in NBE but i dont feel dehydrated any more n my skin looks better.
I also read this thing once that if u always drink cola, if u drank 1 less can a day, with out doing anything differnt u would loose a stone in a year!!!
Carbonated soft drinks are so bad for you,,, the carbonation depletes calcium from your bones. Calcium is needed to grow new cells when old ones die, its important supplement we need for heart and blood not just for bones and teeth,, something to think about next time up pick up a soft drink,, besides they are full of empty calories!!!
I agree-- soda is bad! But maybe that's easy for me to say because my mother didn't feed it to us as kids and I never got a real "taste" for it.
After encouraging a friend to stop drinking soda, he lost 10 lbs in a matter of 2 months or so. This is a guy who doesn't exercise. He replaced the soda with water (not juice or milk which, while "healthier", have tons of calories and would have netted 0 weight loss at the end.)
Thanks Lillea for that article. Interesting indeed. I am also a wine drinker, but since I happen to in that estrogen dominant arena, I'm completely comfortable drinking my wine.
Thought I'd jump in and add myself to the list. I'm a smoker too. I have been trying to cut back, but I am still smoking on a daily basis. I would say that I am an occasional drinker only indulging in a glass of red wine or rum about once a week. I think everything in moderation is fine. JMHO
