I'm growing out my hair (again!) and I'm anxious for it to get long quick. That inbetween stage is killing me... Can anyone recommend a supplement that has worked for them to increase the speed of their hair growth?

Horsetail grass, biotin both are really good for hair growth.
Also vitex, to some degree, helps. But my number 1 is horsetail grass. I have the most success with that.

I remeber a thread exactly like this where lots of people recomended kelp and several including myself have started taking it. It supposedly makes hair grow faster, thicker and stronger. It only shows on the new hair tho.

I take 300 mg per day, which contains a double dose of RDA for iodine. The bottle says that tripple dose is maximum.

Silica, which I believe is in horsetail, is what I take and really, it works.
My hair used to split at the ends all the time, I used to get it cut and a day later it was split again, and it was always really thin. Silica makes it thicker, grow faster and stronger. My hair grows really a lot faster with it and it has gotten thicker as well, which is great.
Silica is good for skin, hair and nails, and aids the connective tissue, so it is great all round.

Great info ladies- thanks! Last time, I took a horse joint supplement and made pills with it after I noticed that the horse I had on that stuff was growing mane at a rate of an inch a month. I didn't want to take horse pills (literally) again ;)

I've been taking 1-2 tablespoons of black strap molasses a day to halt premature grey hair. One side effect is that my hair is growing like crazy. My stylist said that it's working on the grey, it's almost gone, and she has never seen hair grow so fast except for pregnant women.

It could be something else in my routine I suppose, but the molasses has alot of iron in it, and don't prenatal vitamins have iron? Well, I just wanted to share what's working for me, it may not work for everyone. -- Sissy

I agree on the silica. It made my hair grow faster, thicker and just looked healthier. I don't think you would be dissapointed if you decide to take it

I read the same on silica as well. If I'm not mistaking kelp is sad to be so good for hair precisely because it's a good source of all minerals, including silica.

I was wondering if these products that worked great for hair growth did the same for "other" hair. Did it also make the hairs down there thicker and longer faster?

also, what about other body hair? Did you ladies notice that it made facial hair and other body hair grow faster and thicker as well?

i have been taking silica+biotin in pill form and also kelp for a month now and even that i dont have a fringe the new hair are growing so fast that they sort of make a little fring in front. Looking silly but i don't mind since i'm also into growing my hair out fast. I've also noticed that i don't need so much care as before when drying, they just get nice waves with added volume. The only cause could be the herbs and the silica-biotin plus good protein intake as well. Just wish the boobs grew that fast as well ;)

but... i have medium-thickness curly hair and i'm still trying to grow it out after getting a bad haircut almost a year ago, and i want to take something like the horsetail grass, but like i said, my hair is already pretty thick and i dont want it to end up growing very thick and poofier than it already is! would u guys still recomend taking something for my hair to grow faster?
