I've been on NBE for 8 months and a half, never in life I missed a period........... it's two weeks late and there's no chance I might be pregnant. I've been ill around the time it was due and was taking antibiotics, also during that time I made a pause in NBE. I wonder if it could have caused it? I'll go to my GP if it doesn't show up within two weeks. Just wondering have any of you been in a similar situation... all those things one reads about PCOS and stuff, I'm getting a little worried.

Are you certain there is no chance that you could be pregnant? Women have been known to fall pregnant while on the birth control pill. It can happen. I'd do a pregnancy test first thing, if it is negative, then you'll know it is something else.

While on NBE, my period was never late because I was on BCP. However I went off BCP and herbs in my previous cycle and my period was late 3 weeks. I got a very week bleeding today which I assume will get stronger by tommorow and that everything is ok. Women have reported delays of period before, especially on inconsistent routines, going on and off alot etc...

Yup Betty, I'm 100 % positive I can't be pregnant - probably a bit tmi here, but haven't had any sex in 4 months so I think it's pretty impossible. ;P

Thanks Moon, yeah I think it really must have been the antibiotics these in particular stay in the organism for two weeks, and going off the herbs.
I have been pretty consistent with my routine and stopped being on the BCP when started NBE (in that first month I even had two periods, lol!!)
I called my GP today and made an appointment, the fact that I had both a cold and a mini-surgery by the time it was due could have caused it. Taking antibiotics alone is enough to cause hormonal changes and cause this as well, on top of that I also didn't take any herbs not even vitex during that time. It could have been all that, I also have been very stressed these last weeks which does play an influence too. I'm going to perform some routine exams just to make sure everything is okay... the 1st thing that came to mind was that PCOS and scaring stuff, sometimes I wish I haven't read so much stuff before starting NBE, really.

Thanks for your support. =) My period shown up yesterday, what a relief, pfffew! The mini surgery wasn't such a big deal just two 3rd molars (wisdom teeth) that hadn't grown yet, and weren't likely to grow either so my dentist thought it was better to remove them. As a precaution, he always prescripts an antibiotic and a bunch of other stuff in procedures like this. ;)

I am glad you've regained your period now, Violet. :) As annoying as period is, I guess it's still a sign of our body system that we can't miss. Greatest luck to you my dear. :)
