This was emailed to me and some of the information is good news for those who enjoy caffeine. Also, about dosages for those worried about whether they are taking too much. This is from the folks at Greenbush.
Ten Things You Should Know About Herbal Breast Enhancement
1. The Breast Enhancement Revues, Product Comparison and Breast Pill Ratings sites are run by the companies that sell the products. They are actually rating their own products at the #1 position. Very clever. Dont be fooled.
2. Chat sites and forums on herbal breast enhancement are rife with people selling their own products. These are just sales pitches often from affiliate sellers. There is also a lot of misleading information on the forums.
3. 100% Money Back Guarantees are bogus. If you read the fine print no one qualifies for them. This has been going on for years. Many of the more highly hyped companies have been fined by the FTC for not fulfilling the guarantees. They just go out of business and come back as another brand. Remember Isis, Bloussant, Curves for Women? Think about it for a minute. Why would a company guarantee results when they have no control over how you use the product and no way of verifying whether you had results or not?
4. Kitchen Sink formulas. Many of the breast enhancement formula companies apparently feel that the more ingredients they put in their capsule, the more scientific it will seem to people. And they may be right, that it seems more scientific. But more ingredients only weakens the dose of the nutrients that you need. Prevention Magazine, who coined the phrase, put it this way: "These are the "kitchen sink" supplements, products that have as many as 20 herbs in a tablet or capsule. It's hard enough to get an active does of one herb into a single tablet or capsule, much less 20 active doses of 20 different herbs. Bottom line: They just don't work."
5. These herbs are common foods and spices not drugs. Exact dosing is not necessary and it is difficult to take too much of the herbs. Obsessing about exact milligrams or milliliters is not productive. And the herbs are actually quite good for you, not some dangerous experiment on your body. Just make sure that you are getting enough of the herbs into your system.
6. Searching the globe for a magic bullet herb. Diosgenin and assorted other phytoestrogens in fenugreek, fennel and wild yam, and the sapponins in saw palmetto are all that you really need. There are thousands of herbs that contain these things, but in smaller concentrations. We simply use those that contain the highest concentrations. There is no need to go searching for some exotic new herb about which there is little or no research or track record of safety. See The Green Pharmacy by Dr. James Duke for more information.
7. Diligence is more important than timing. We often hear from women fretting about the exact time, daily or monthly, that the herbs should be taken, whether they need on and off schedules, whether the herbs should be taken with food or without. None of these things make any particular difference in effectiveness. What does matter is taking the herbs consistently every day, and using massage in your program.
8. Avoiding caffeine, carbonated beverages and chocolate? We have never been clear on why so many of those formula companies make these statements. Our theory is that one of them posted this rule and the rest of them copied it. Caffeine is fine in moderation, though it can contribute to breast tenderness, so limit it if this is a problem for you. Carbonated beverages have no effect on the program, though there are better things for your diet. And chocolate, especially dark chocolate, contains flavenoids that can actually be helpful.
9. Herbal quality. You really arent doing yourself a favor by getting cheap herbs at a discount store. Read the ingredients. There are fillers and additives, the herbs are often irradiated to kill bacteria, and potency varies widely. The only ingredients that you need are the herbs, in a potent form.
10. No one can tell you exactly how this will work for you or how long it will take. In our eight years of experience with the herbs we have found that about half the women who use the program see results within two to six weeks. Another 30 percent have to work a little harder or wait a little longer, increasing doses, etc. The other twenty percent will generally see results with a diligent effort. We never give up since we have seen women have difficulties for long periods and then suddenly start to see improvements. There are a few things that will give you a clue however.
A. You can get some idea of your size limit by looking at other women in your gene pool. You may be able to match or exceed the larger breasted women in your family, but generally no one is going to become a DD in a family of Bs.
B. Women of all ages can see improvements, but we have noticed that the period just before menopause, mid to late forties, can hamper things a bit. Women in this age group have slowing hormone production and often need higher doses of the herbs than normal. On the bright side, the herbs often lessen or eliminate menopausal symptoms making the transition easier.
C. Women with high metabolism and low body fat, or with very strenuous exercise programs often need higher doses of the herbs and seem to take longer to see good results.
D. Poor diet and smoking can slow results. Your body needs a well balanced diet to promote healthy breast tissue. Fruits, vegetables and whole grains are very helpful.

Thank you Chloe. I have been on their website and am going to put an order in for their individual herbs very soon. I am impressed with the no-nonsense and straightforwardness of the company. Appreciate you sharing the info!

Hope this helps. I am not promoting their products by the way. Just trying to give info about questions we ask back and forth. Happy growing.
Good to know that they are straight forward. I just wanted to add one thing to this - not to go against you or them. But caffeine and carbonated drinks I read are bad for NBE. There was a thread about this a little while ago. It just doesn't allow good absorbtion for the herbs and enzymes, so it is better to cut down on things like coffee and soda, and to spread them out from when you are taking your herbs.
This is just the kind of arrogant drivel that Greenbush have been spouting for years. They cast doubt on caffeine being a potential problem for example, yet many herbalists caution against taking caffeine, and I don't see how Greenbush have proven that they are wrong. And then if you go through this forum you will see that many women here have found that dosage is important and that taking less of something is sometimes better, yet Greenbush dismiss this out of hand as though it's all nonsense. In fact most of what they say is contentious and should be taken as being merely their opinion without very much to back any of it up.
caffiene can act as a mild diuretic (and i would even say not so mild depending on your metabolism, your stomach, and the strength of it in a beverage), so it flushes whatever you intake out quicker than your metabolism and doesn't allow for the normal absorption of vitamins, minerals, and whatever into your system. that would include herbs. it is a stimulant, so if you think about it, it makes sense. i lose weight in a day when i drink an expresso to stay awake, because it pushes things along in your digestive tract. it is pushing those herbs along too before they have the chance to react with your chemistry. i know this very unscientific, but i'm not a scientist! but caffiene will help flush out anything in your system because it is a diuretic. so i would stay away from it.
i also know that greenbush doesn't use alcohol in its tinctures, and i was wondering what you all think about that? someone here said the alcohol helps with absorption. anyone know anything about that?
Take it however you want it. I think for the herbs that they promote that small amounts of caffeine are safe. As they mention many are spices and not usually dangerous even in higher doses. I think they are saying in moderation caffeine is okay as well as dark chocolate. If you have information to show where small amounts of caffeine are harmful for NBE please post it.
As far as a diuretics they are more harmful for electrolytes and fluid balance. Cathartics push food through the bowel and interfere with absorption of of foods. Small amounts of caffeine should not cause a significant amount of either. Recent research has even shown where small amounts of caffeine are good for mental clarity. MODERATION IS THE KEY.
If you want to totally eliminate caffeine then feel free.
I know they do have a lot of experience with their herbs. I also know this was promotional in nature. Please do your own research and present what you learn to the board.
This if more to help others relax that they have not totally sabotaged their program by small amounts of caffeine and that all the worry about stalling by slightly increasing their dosages is probably not necessary.
I dont anyone want to stress out. This should be an enjoyable experience. I realize some people really do try to see the negative in everything so I really cant help that. Take what is helpful for you. If it isnt helpful then ignore it.
I for one appreciate the information and the time you spent posting it for us. I have come across numerous posts from VickyA in other forums as well as here in my quest for more information and I have always found her posts to be very negative. I wouldn't take it too personally it seems to be par for the course.
I meant to write laxatives move food through the bowel (ok yuk-I wont say anymore along this line).
Actually it is good that everyone expresses their views so we can all learn. I just want everyone to have a safe nonstressful NBE journey. Why change your whole life for NBE. Especially since you may have take something for several months. There is no one approach that will help everyone so the more options the better.
Thanks for posting the info. I've ordered from Greenbush in the past and will continue in the future (I've always had a positive experience with them).
i hope no one thought what i said was negative. it wasn't intended to be. i do think caffeine can likely affect the efficacy of herbs, so i avoid it myself. i have been interested in buying some individual herbs from greenbush too. does anyone know why someone would say that they aren't absorbed as well without alcohol? it seems a lot of people like these herbs and that they are high in concentration.
I'm not sure why saying you don't agree with Greenbush on something should be considered negative. Surely it's a positive thing to point out that some of the claims made by Greenbush are contentious.
Perhaps Betty is a member of the thought police and is here to guide us on what we should be thinking.
Hi i do not use green bush products etc, but i feel the info provided by cloe is really good and assuring, generally just good common sence that you learn im NBE anyway.
Its great to see that /caffine/choclet etc can be had in moderation-god we are trying to grow boobs not give things up for lent.
We know there are loads of apparent No1 breast products that we should be wary of,the same with the 100% money back products
The forums/chat-iv not come across a fake one as i found here 1st, if there are people selling there products here its very subtle somthing i definatly havent noticed-so id say we are ok here
We know results vary from person to person and that our boobs are not likley to go from nothing to Bazookers
We also know it takes time and dedication, taking herbs and massage at certain times and keeping it up for an unknown period of time.
We know smoking is basically bad in every way, and we know that good diet is important in every day life.
So i cant see there is anything at all wrong with the info provided and well worth reading through- i think you should post in general ref cloe, Im my opinion sound advice through out, although if you have been here a while you would already know all of the above-except for chocolet been good for you -YAY!!!ONE heck of a bonus ladies-im off to get some bornville.
chocolate "can" be good for you, but unfortunately i like the UNhealthy kind of chocolate! :(
i ordered cacao nubs one time after hearing this raw foods guy go on the radio go on and on about how delicious they are and how amazing they make you feel. it was soooo disgusting i had to spit it out! never got to experience the wonders of cacao nubs! i also agree that most of the advice is sound. i would like to start addings some greenbush fennugreek in tincture form to my current routine. i think keeping stress down is very, very importan. anxiety stresses the adrenal glands which can increase androgen production. i have a whole week off for spring break, so i'm predicting a huge growth spurt...er...not really :/...though stranger things could happen!

To calrify: I was simply trying to make Chloe feel better as it seemed to me she was being told she was naive for believeing this information or posting it for perusal. I certainly wasn't trying to guide anyone's way of thinking. I apologise if my comment offended anyone.

Re: Info from Greenbush

Lets just end this thread unless someone has something positive and helpful to add. It really does not matter. People will believe what they want. I have read so many posts about people being depressed and having suicidal thoughts about not growing. I thought this would be encouraging to some become some of these ladies seem very obsessed(in a negative and unhealthy way)with the outcome of these routines. I thought most of the info was pretty commonsense. A lot of this information has been stated in various ways. I am not easily swayed by promotional ads and I can think for myself. I posted this for the commonsense advice. I am not even using GB supplements currently. However, they do have good products at a reasonable price with good customer service.
Imagine if caffeine or chocolate interfered with contraception. Do any OCPS recommend eliminating caffeine or choco because they decrease efficacy. Think of how many unplanned pregnancies there would be. So why should small amounts of these two things interfere with phytoestrogens. I do not agree that you have to totally eliminate this from your life while on NBE but I personally dont care if someone wants to do this. I definitely believe in eating as healthy as possible.
I do not agree with Wahaika and his theory about large amounts of phytoestrogens causing you to stall. When you take synthetic hormones the more you take the more effect(or side effects) you will see. The action of the hormone does not stop when you take larger doses. However, our natural internal hormones work this way. However, I do agree that you should take the smallest amount of hormone that you need to grow to limit any potential problems by taking too much.
So basically most of the information from Greenbush is pratical and I would not have posted this info if I did not think there was some value. I think people can decipher what is promotional. I also made sure to let everyone know that it was from Greenbush.
Happy growing and enjoy life.
Jenelle it would so nice of you to update your progress for us. It seems as if you have lots of knowledge to impart. Do you have a program page? Please update on a separate thread.
I don't think that anyone disagreeing with some of Greenbush's opinions is implying that Chloe shouldn't have posted it in the first place. All information is valuable and I don't think anyone was saying don't post the information. But from reading this forum it is apparent that some of Greenbush's claims are disputed by many, so it is obvious that some people will take a contrary position to some of their statements.
chloe,
i don't think anyone is critisizing you for posting this information. it is valuable, and you you thought it was valuable, which is why you posted it. there is nothing wrong with that whatsoever. you shouldn't feel personally offended if some people point out that they disagree on some of the information. one person's comment was a bit harsh and unneccessary, but i think it was directed towards her feelings towards greenbush - not towards you...it just was not very tactful. people are allowed to disagree and share what they know - we are all here to learn. you should do what you are comfortable with and so should others. everyone's body is different, and generalized information works for most people in general, so the information is useful for most peopl. it's really in poor taste to say someone is a member of the thought police or to use harsh language in general. it is negative and just doesn't help anyone. i thank you for posting the information, and i find it useful myself. even though i won't follow all of it, i will certainly follow a lot of it. good luck to you and thanks for posting.
