Does anyone know if reversatrol is helpful with hormones/BE? Or does it have an anti-estrogen affect? It's in red wine, and you can get grape seed extract supplements that contain it as well.

Lillea, Resveratrol is estrogenic (there's even a warning on one product saying women with a history of cancer should avoid it), but I hadn't really thought about how it would affect BE. Maybe it would help! My main reason for taking it was skin-related, but it would be so cool if this is helping the boobs, too. :) Funny, I used to eat a lot of grapes when I was younger.
yikes! it says if you have a family history of cancer you shouldn't take it? i don't even think i know a single person who doesn't have a family history of cancer.
Sorry, I just meant if you've already had certain types of cancer yourself, such as breast cancer, due to its possible effect on hormones. One product containing it says,"women with estrogen receptor-positive cancers should avoid resveratrol."
This is a fairly standard warning for a number of products that could affect estrogen levels, even soy. I think the same would go for most BE herbs. Supplements containing OPCs and resveratrol are actually full of antioxidants because they're made from grapes, and there's evidence that these can be helpful in preventing cancer, but companies have to cover themselves.

thank goodness! i was going to say...sounds like you might as well invest in a pack of cigarettes while you're at it! i had two glasses of red wine when i went out to dinner last night, and i always feel good drinking it because i know it is good for the heart, and heart problems run in my family. grapeseed oil is a great moisturizer too. i use it after a shower. it also doesn't have a fragrance, so you can wear perfume afterwards still. thanks for clearing that up!
