So I thought I would start this thread because I am super-depressed (and it isn't just my period). When I started I was between 34 to 34.5 inches, and I started my program exactly a month ago. A couple days ago, I measured 35.25 and now? I measure 34.5! ahhh! i guess this is what we mean by luteal swelling? I have noticed all sorts of sensations, soreness, fullness I never had before, change in shape even, etc. so I thought I was really growing. I guess I could have grown a little since I am 34.5 and was probably pushing the 34.5 measurement a month ago. I also weigh 5 pounds less than I did a month ago - I don't know if that makes a difference (probably due to stress and a busy lifestyle - not good for nbe).
Anyways, I suppose after seeing luvgrl's great results on the same product i am on (which is great, congrats luvgrl!) and the measuring, I thought it might be helpful and encouraging to people new to this like myself if people could post when they noticed real measurable growth. Was it gradual, sudden - that sort of thing? You can look through all the program pages and through the pictures, but I thought it would be a lot easier to see what people had to say in a post.
similar thing happened to me! i had all this growth before my last period, and i thought some of it would stay after the luteal phase. nope, all disappeared, and now i am swelling up again. i also would love to know about others who had a slow rate of growth.
Your experience sounds very familiar to those girls that have taken Wonderup. Where they would experience significant swelling then after their period it all goes away. After a few periods though I hear the growth/swelling stays so the swelling should be considered a good sign, especially if it's in your first month or 2.
As, for me though... I've been on WU for 2 months with no growth and no swelling, not even before my period. So, I would say you are both lucky to be experiencing something.
i'm taking natureday. it is liquid and pills, and i take 3 droppers a day (90 drops) and noticed all sorts of stuff right away. my hormones were crazy! and then i recently started taking 6 pills a day. amy from natureday says you should only take the 90 drops for the first month and then stick to 60 drops. but i am one of those more is more people, when probably less is in some cases. i don't know - those familiar with natureday if you think i'm doing it wrong or taking too much, please let me know. moon keeps saying if something is working, don't stop it. and it seems to work and my body is fine with it. so i don't know if i should or not. then, since natureday has fennel and fennugreek on the bottom of their ingredient list, i started adding some fennugreek and fennel from greenbush to it since those are the estrogenic herbs that are supposed to make you really grow.
i think wonderup has all the herbs natureday has but others as well. so that is why i am sort of supplementing. i was thinking of trying wonderup if this doesn't work for me. but it definately is doing something. i want to order the wonderup massage cream.
thanks for pointing out that these patterns with swelling and shrinking aren't necessarily bad things, but perhaps positive signs. that makes me feel slightly better. :)
i know michelle choi took natureday and i saw her pics, and they are good. she grew gradually with natureday. i would still be interested to hear from others about their growth and when they first started seeing real growth. i know people are all over the map in their growing, but it would be really helpful to hear some wisdom from others who have grown or are growing.
good luck to you ladies! i sympathize :( but i think we'll all doing okay and on the right path.
For me I really think it's the massage that is causing me to have a lot more swelling then usual before my perdiod. but it's true, that at least something is happening. just hard to not get excited with the swelling, then discouraged when it goes away..hoping more and more will stick around :)
ah...thanks for clarifying michelle. if this shrinking thing keeps happening with natureday, i will be trying something else. i think stress and weight loss have contributed to my...other loss.
...so i am still on my period, but measured myself today and now I am back at 35 inches! what the heck!? how is that possible. i measured myself carefully three times. how can that be possible!? has anyone else experienced that? it just seems impossible.
Ohkay, so I have been taking Vitex Agnus Castus since Valentine's day. So it's been about a month and 4 days [33 days]. I am on my second period while being on Vitex. Before even taking this I never EVER got swelling in my breasts during my period. I didn't even get swelling on my first period with using Vitex. I just got my period [second time] sometime early this morning. I woke up and my breasts are A TON more fuller [from being swollen of course] and when I massage them they are very tender. Which NEVER happened when I didn't take Vitex.
So is this a good sign? I hope it doesn't leave when my period is gone in a week.
That's great to hear about the vitex giving you some feelings and such Jackie, let us know if the the bit of growth stays! and the new hairs could be from massaging because of how your are causing more circulation there and can make hair that was previously unnoticble come out... this is what I have noticed in the past and I remember reading once on here. goodluck!

Jackie, sounds like a good sign! I always had a few blonde-brown nipple hairs but could stand them no longer so before my wedding I plucked them. Obviously now I have to keep plucking them and I thought it was the plucking that made them grow back thicker and darker but now I'm on Dianette although they still grow back and they are quite dark they are no longer thick! See if it sorts itself out after a few months, some of these hormonal things get worse before they get better. Dianette is given to people to help acne and hirsutism (hairs), for me it's made my skin worse than my previous pill (but better than none) and seems to be doing a good job for the hairs. They tell you it could take more than 6 months to have any effect but I would say it was more like 2-3 months possibly because I sprang into action as soon as I developed worse hair so I stopped it getting to bad.
It contains estrogen and progesterone like most BCPs, but the progesterone component reduces testosterone which is the cause of acne and hairs when your hormones are unbalanced. It should also reduce period pains, make your period regular and lighter and probably shorter and reduce PMT.
It's got the highest risks in terms of cardiovascular problems like thrombosis so I doubt your doctor would prescribe it without diagnosing a hormonal problem first. I was tempted to buy it from the internet but apparently a lot of meds you buy on the net are fake so you don't know what's in them.
That's interesting how you said most docs won't prescribe it without diagnosing hormonal problems first because I just came in for my acne (it was getting out of control) she just looked at my face for a minute explained to me that these "aren't real birth control!" My mother joined in, in telling me that they are not birth control!! And that's it, i've never done a blood test or anything with the doctor...
Why do parents and doctors lie like that for? Of course it is birth control!!
Hopeful, you are sooooo cute! They tell you it's not birth control because they don't want you to sleep around!
Did the doctor not try topicals first and the various antibiotics before giving you Dianette? How long ago was this?
I've even looked in the BNF (drug book for doctors and pharmacists) and Dianette is described as not being licensed for BCP use although obviously that's in the UK.
