I'm also trying to gain a bit of weight (but not on my tummy)
I read another post here on the forum where one member reported her doctor advised her to take folic acid to slow the metabolism and allow the body to better absorb nutrient.
I've been taking vitex, gelatin caps and a multi vitamin containing folic acid. Gained about 3 lbs since starting.
Hi Girls..I have used the weight gainer from (Weider) i think it is called MEGA MASS 4000..It is really good and i gained 1 kg in 5 days...I used 3 scoops +banana+ 1 spoon of strawberry jelly and i can tell u i was amazed:)i am very happy now and i'm gonna start again soon to gain another kg..
I also have a problem with gaining that weight on the stomach. So here is what i have done.I tried my best to take all the shake before 7 pm..so i don't consume calories before bedtime..I also exercised before bedtime(crunshes....)so i can avoid any weight gain on the stomach area..and it worked:) So good luck for u..hope it works for u too.

I have been struggling keeping my weight, never mind gaining any, since last summer. I am finding it quite hard as I don't really like eating much or fatty foods as it is, so trying to eat more than I usually do is really quite difficult for me.
I am not terribly under weight but need to gain about 4 kilos or so to have a BMI over 18.5.
I have used a pint of full fat milk and about four scoops (tablespoons) of skimmed milk powder in a mixer with either a banana or some chocolate flavour.
If I manage to drink that it helps me gain weight and it has quite a bit of protein in it too to help with NBE.
I am just not very consistent with it because after a while I get sick of drinking it. But while I use it it works quite well.
I don't want to gain around my butt and thigh area, so to combat that I have been doing a lot of walking and am doing some simple thigh exercises I found online. I would think any sport targeted at your problem zone would help keep the fat from storing only in that area.
I've tried eating healthy and exercising, all the way to eating nothing but junk food and doing nothing... I actually weighed more when I was eating healthy because I gained muscle. But I want fat :/

I've been trying to gain weight too. I'm 5'7 and 110 lbs. I've tried protein shakes and eating more...it takes a lot of hard work and I can never keep up with it.
I know people say you should try to gain weight before starting NBE, but maybe we need to change our hormone profile in order to be able to gain weight in the first place?
Maybe I will give folic acid a try too. I'm definitely open to suggestions as I have struggled with this for years! Any advice would be much appreciated :)
I'm not trying to gain weight but have lost nearly 25lb and wanted to increase protein intake so I started eating the slimfast meal replacement bars (like cereal bars, fairly small, sweet and not filling) I have to use these as meal replacements otherwise may get fat again but could you slim girls eat them as well as whatever you usually eat for extra protein and extra calories (also 2 bars per day gives you around 80% RDA of vitamins and minerals)

Here is a link giving advice on how to eat to gain weight, I found it quite useful.
- Lavender, I definitely think you have a good point there.
I believe that taking folic acid helps. I used it for a while, then heard that taking vitamin B is good for your nerves and so on, so I bought a vitamin B complex not so long ago and it contains the folic acid too, and stronger nerves are never a bad thing. :-)
Any extra calorie bars etc. would be good, but I don't know about you girls but I just struggle eating extra, it costs me a lot of effort, which is why it is so hard.
And like someone said previously, it just is so hard to keep it all up. I manage for a few weeks but then just forget the protein shakes again etc.
Well, good luck to us all, I am sure if we try to just add one extra thing to our diet we will eventually manage to gain at least some weight.

Thanks for the link, Lisa. Here are some more tips
- Aim to gain an average of 1 pound per week.
- Eat every 2 to 3 hours: 5 to 6 mini-meals per day.
- Plan ahead and pack nutrient-dense snacks.
- Increase your portion size. (hah...right)
- Concentrate on the calories.
- Use healthy fats such as olive, canola, and flaxseed oil in cooking.
- Make healthy high-calorie smoothies with ingredients such as fruit, peanut butter, low-fat yogurt or milk, or frozen yogurt.
- Keep a bowl of nuts or dried fruit on your counter or desk and grab a handful as you pass it.
- Exercise with weights to build muscle.
- Don't leave off the extras: add some low-fat cream cheese or margarine to your toast; add low-fat cheese and avocados to your sandwiches; eat whole-grain bread with your meal, and a healthy dessert after a meal.
- Enjoy the process of gaining weight because, if done properly, it won't happen instantly.
I cannot stress enough how important it is to keep track of your daily calorie intake. I use this chart from toneteen.com:
http://www.toneteen.com/printzone/caloriecounter.htm
I can't stand the taste of protein shakes, but will drink them once in a while. I drink A LOT of milk (there are 160 calories in 1 cup of milk).

Don't forget to exercise, like that the stretch marks shouldn't come to easy and the weight should get distributed kind of evenly over the body. Doncentrate the exercises where it goes most.
That you get stretch marks so easily is a sign of weak connective tissue. It helps taking some kind of skin/hair/nail supplement or simply silica, as well as taking a vitamin c and zink supplement.
Cocoa butter is supposed to be really good for stretch marks.

Lisa121 -
I bought the vitamin B complex (b6,b12) with folic acid after reading your post, and I've been taking it for about 5 days now...and guess what...I feel really chilled out!!!
I'm normally a high stress person, worry a lot about everything, but I've been feeling really relaxed these past couple days. I even had a presentation for work the other morning that I would normally be pretty stressed about, but I was quite calm.
Anyway, i just wanted to thank you for your suggestion. I always thought part of the reason I was skinny was because I used up extra calories stressing about everything! So hopefully I'll gain weight because of both the folic acid and the B complex.
I'll keep you guys posted about my weight gain progress...

Wow, that is great, I am so happy to hear it helps you at least in that department.
I am a really stressy person too, I have noticed the vitamin B helps but not as much as you have, but then I am always taking ten different things at the same time so I never know what is the one helping.
Good luck with the weight gain, I am trying to pile on the pounds as well, but am afraid it is rather going in grams just now.
Hello all. I am interested in gaining weight, but afraid that because I have a petite frame I will just develop a gut. I am 5'2" and weigh around 106 lbs, but am all around petite. unfortunately in my breast size as well!!! Victorias Secret measured me as a 32B but I am definitely a modest B if at all.
I am only 19 and because of college I havent been successful in having a steady regimin. Any suggestions??
how much folic acid, B vitamins, silica, vitamin c, should i take ? ive been taking a mutli vitamin only for years now which has all of these things in it already but ive still gotten stretch marks easily and still weight so little...
my multi (whole source complete women formula) has :
400mg folic acid (100% daily value)
B complex : which has between 200%-1000% daily value of 4 different B vitamins
100% daily value zink (15mg)
1 mg grape seed
2 mg silicon
boron, soy, royal jelly, all sorts of good stuff in it
isn't silica sand? that would help me not get as many stretch marks?
thanks for all the great info :)

I take Allmax QuickMass Vanilla 1.5kg
QUICKMASSTM has been scientifically formulated for the hard-gainer and serious athlete seeking rapid gains in lean body mass.QUICKMASS provides 1010 calories per serving with 56 grams of OCTA-PRO™ protein, 7.8 grams of Glutamine, 5 grams of Fibersol-2™, Zero Trans-Fats and a revolutionary Calorie Activation Technology called NP5™.
I don't know if this relates to this topic, the NBE method I used was through foods + massage, it worked and it has been over 5 months since I stopped my programme, my size has remained.
Anyways, I was watching this receipe for a while but never tried it, cause I was afraid I might gain weight (the original author claims u won't gain weight from it, only grow boobs). This recipe is from a China forum, started by a modle, here is the link (in Chinese language), she claims this recipe can make you grow a cup in 3 month (without gainning weight)
Some girls say it works, some girls say they gain weight from that, I myself have never tried it, though. I post it here for whoever is interested, I don't know if it's tasty or not (doesn't sound tasty to me)
Boobie potato recipe:
100g potato+ 250g soy milk + 30g walnut(even better add some soy beans)
cook them together til the potato is soft. eat everyday at supper or as night snacks.
*****stop during periods and resume again 3 days AFTER u finish ur period.
they say u can gain 1 cup size in 3 month.
this is how the girl cooks for convenience. she uses 1 pack of soya powder, cruched walnuts, 1 small potato. she cooks the chopped potato cubes w/ water until soft then add in soya podwer and walnuts. she says u will start seeing growth in couple of weeks.
or you can do this
you may pre-cook the potato (cut in pieces) in water, then drain out water, add soy milk and walnuts cook (simmer) together for 5-10 mins.
If you use soy milk powder instead then no need drain out water when potato is done.
*****any seasoning is not advised, including salt and pepper.

hi, cutevelvet, I have never tried it, but in that forum about half think it works, and another half stopped at first sign of gainning weight. I don't want to gain weight so I have no guts to try it (even if I eat mashed potato all the time) but the author says u need to eat it everyday EXCEPT when on periods (but resume 3 days AFTER ur period). I post it here cause girls in this thread want to gain weight, I figure it's worth a try if they can gain both boobs & weight.
The author in that Chinese forum says she is a model, and that recipe is very popular in her model group, but about half of the girls in that forum replied they gained weight from that, that's why I never try this recipe. Hope this helps.

I'd like to try that. Could I use soy bean granules and if so do I have to add some liquid after the potatoes are done cooking so it wont be too dry/thick?
The container says son granules and when I check the ingredients it just says soybeans. It has directions to add the granules into food like oatmeal for example. It's like soybeans but toasted. It's defenitely not powder/flour. It's like little flakes.
if soy bean granules just made from soy beans not with too much other stuff, I don't know if it will work but I think it's worth a try, don't drain the water when potato is done, just add in the soy bean granules. From what I read in that China forum, lots of girls say they "feel" the "swelling" in their boobs just after few days, like luteal swelling. But, it's just hearsay, I have never try this recipe, hope this helps.

I am going to try this too! I will report back in a month... :)
"- Eat every 2 to 3 hours: 5 to 6 mini-meals per day."
Not to be nitpicky, but as far as I know, this is what you're supposed to to when you're trying to LOSE weight. My boyfriend (5'8" and 212 lbs at start) has begun doing this, and has lost about 7 pounds through eating smaller portions more often ONLY. He has not cut down on his caloric intake at all, it's still around 2300 calories a day, and he hasn't started his exercise routine yet. To my knowledge, you're supposed to eat more frequently because it helps get your metabolism going, which isn't good for most of us skinny people- I know that my metabolism already works overdrive (I take in between 2500 and 3000 calories a day, and I still seem to lose weight/stay the same. I've even stopped exercising so frequently!) O.o
Correct me if I'm wrong, but this seems like a bad idea in my mind.
Anyway, I wish I had some say in what I ate (I'm in college, but still living with my parents, so they're the ones who make my dinner D:) because I think I'd like to try that potato recipe. I'm actually rather fond of bland, tasteless foods, and if it helps me gain some weight AND some boobs, that'd be nice. Of course, my parents don't like potatoes much, because it does make them gain some weight, so we don't get to have them very often ):
Just a question though, do you think it would be alright if some olive oil were added to the recipe? Olive oil is yummy and goes with everything, plus it's healthy...
sorry, I don't know if you can add olive oil or not, from what I read the author says no seasoning should be added, not even salt or pepper, as some soy powder mix has sugar in it, she advised without suger type works better.
Ok, thanks! I probably wont ever get to try it anyway, but it's good to know.

Hi fengshui, u said to use 250g soy milk...but did u mean 250ml? also, just wondering...would it matter if the measurement of each ingredient wasn't exact? or does it have to be exact in order for it to be effective?
I was going to ask that also but I wanted to know in cups. Like 1 cup soy milk, 1 cup potatoes, 1/4 cup walnuts? What would be an estimate in cup measurement. Thanks for your help.
measurement of each ingredient doesn't have to be exact, from what I read, estimate is fine, cause the author said, she uses 1 small potato, 1 pk soy mix, 3 or 4 walnuts ( crush them), when potato is done, she doesn't drain, just use the water to stir in the soy mix, so it's not exact amount. if you use soy milk from a jar, it's 250 ml. (you'll need to drain out water, then pour in soy milk, simmer together for 5~10 min.) hope I make it clear. :-)
About this potato recipe... I don't know if I could eat the potato with NO seasoning. If I did add a bit of salt and pepper, would it drastically alter the benefits of the formula, or is it just not advised to do so?
Hi Jen, My stats are pretty close to yours - I'm 5'8" and 113 lbs.
I just started taking the supplemental shake Cytogainer as of about a week ago. I'm hopinh it helps. I'm going to start birth control so maybe that will help me gain weight too. Gaining weight is so hard! Then again, I'm 18 and still growing so maybe my body just doesn't want to fill out that much yet. :P
I have been skinny my entire life, until I began my body transformation quest. I decided that I was going to work hard to change everything I didn't like about myself, my weight included. All doing it the natural way. First let me recommend Russian Bear 5000 weight gain shake. It is not thick at all and has a great taste! I buy the Vanilla kind and mix it with Soy milk. I have also been doing NBE and have gained substantially. I know I gained 6 pounds last month. Another thing that may help is Colostrum, it is the first milk that mothers make for their babies nutrition. I know this one girl on the Achieving the Body Forum, who was taking Colostrum and gained a good amount of weight, and it did not take her a long time and she looked amazing. I said I would start taking it soon. Also I have been taking a supplement for my breast and butt to get bigger, Girls Love Curves. It also helps women who are underweight to gain, because it has all the essential amino acids (the building blocks of protien synthensis) muscle weighs more than fat, it contains fatty acids from Evening Primrose oil and Flax seeds. It is a truly unique formula, I gained 2 inches in my breast in three months and 3 in my butt, taking this and maca.PLUS it comes with a weight gain plan, shows you what to eat(dense foods). Some other herbs to increase appetite, are Alfalfa and Blessed Thistle. I hope that this helps. Good luck to you ladies. Oh and do keep up with the calorie count and eat calorie dense foods.
If you read within the content of my paragraph, you will find useful info. Yes I can tell others of my product too, but if you don't want to purchase it, there are other options.
Why is is that when someone mentions another product like Mega Mass and tells people where to get it, its not a problem. But when you mention a product that you carry, all of a sudden its a problem??? I don't sell Colostrum or Russian Bear, but I am trying to be helpful and tell people where to find it. I thought that was the purpose of this board?
I have been monitoring your progress and I see you have been doing pretty well in increasing weight & curves.
I am now quite tight on cash.
What was the first herb that you noticed that helped you to gain weight & curves?
I have so many things at home already. And I do not want to stop but I could only buy a little at a time.
Any suggestions would be great
Thanks

How convenient for you to post about your website and product while casually mentioning others in the same breadth.
CelebrityChic: "...Also I have been taking a supplement for my breast and butt to get bigger, Girls Love Curves. It also helps [blah blah blah] It is a truly unique formula, I gained 2 inches in my breast in three months and 3 in my butt, taking this and maca.PLUS it comes with a weight gain plan, shows you what to eat(dense foods)..."
This is blatant advertising. It belongs in the NBE marketplace.
