Well I searched the breast measuring guide but I don't want to know a band size I need help knowing how to measure above, over, and under the breast so I will know if there have been changes down the road. Can someone direct me to a place I can find out how to do this please???
So I followed the instructions to one of the links, and I may not be the smartest person but I can follow directions and add and subtract and what I came up with was definitely not right. So I am asking you ladies who measure frequently for info on how to do it. I would like to know how to measure each breast as I am very lopsided.
Depends how big you are to start with. When I started I could only measure the underbust and then the bust at nipple because I didn't have a breast crease to measure from. Several months later I now have a crease at the bottom and sides - yay!
Some other measures you can take:
Nipple to crease
Collar bone to crease (crossing nipple)
Across breast from outer side to cleavage side (crossing nipple)
The bust measurement is hard to take accurately because if the tape measure is not level at the back you'll get a huge difference - make sure you measure in front of a mirror. I have a mole on my back so I measure from just under that - done you have any similar reference point?!!?
Another idea is to buy exactly the same bra, underwired non-padded see-through material works best, preferably in white or a pale pastel colour (but all the same colour). Buy maybe 3 consecutive cup sizes, making sure the band size fits snugly on the loosest hook setting. Always try a smaller band size just to see if it fits - I was amazed that I could fit a 30 band and it makes a real difference in terms of lift and shape. Take photos in all 3 bras maybe once per week and then you can see yourself growing out of the small one and filling up the bigger one - this will also help you see if the smaller one it catching up.
I would do outer side to cleavage side horizontally in line with the nipple, putting the tape against the skin so the tape measure is curved not straight, like this (top pic):
