Waxingmoon, no results from Progesterone cream yet...

Hey Waxingmoon! I've been using the PC for about four months now, after doing a saliva test that confirmed estrogen dominance. You helped me out over the summer. I am wondering how long it took you to see results. I have not yet seen any, other than my HUGE fibrotic cyst, that I've had for years, decrease in half!

I am still experiencing heavy periods that occur every 21-23 days, acne, hair loss, foggy thinking, no libido, melasma, anxiety starting a week before my period, the list goes on. I was hoping some of these things will go away. How long before you started to see improvement in things?

Many times I only use it once a day, instead of two. Is that making a difference? Could it be the brand? It is called FemCreme, approved by Dr. Lee's site.

On the other hand, my breast grew a little bit before I started and they've kept their size! Although I'm still a tiny AA!! I stopped massaging the last couple of months. I'll have to start up again.

Thanks for everything. I read your program page. So sorry about all that you went through during the hurricane. :( Glad you came out okay and that you've learned some lessons along the way.

Hi Lisa,

I am sorry to hear you are not over your ED symptoms yet. As I looked back through my program page I was still complaining of symptoms in March of 2007 when I had started progesterone cream in September of 2006. I had by that time also been on Vitex which I believe I had started in November 2006.

You have at least noticed the improvement in your fibrocystic area, which is great news. I also had that effect and that improvement has been one of the most significant that I can attribute to the progesterone.

I think you should continue. We are all different in our responses and you may be slower to respond. The reasons for your estrogen dominance may be different than mine. You also may not be doing everything I was doing to combat the ED.

Just as a summary of what I did to help my ED so you don't have to take notes in my program page:

1. progesterone cream
2. reduce exposure to artificial estrogens (in plastics, solvents, artificial hormones (bcp and animal fats from non-organic animals), pesticides, etc.)
3. vitamin supplementation (multivitamin, EPO, vitamin C, selenium, vitamin A, fish oil)
4. nutritional support (high protein diet, organic foods, crushed flax seed)
5. exercise
6. stress reduction

Annnd, I probably skipped over something, but that at least gives you some tips on things to look into.

There is also a possibility of another underlying issue that is causing your ED symptoms. What I mean is that yes, you have symptoms of low progesterone, but exactly why is unknown. Is it high estrogen, adrenal insufficiency or some other thing that is making you have the symptoms that you do, but are really just part of a bigger picture of endocrine disorder? I am not suggesting this to make you fearful or crazy about whether you are doing the right thing. I am just saying that although you are doing a good job of working towards a solution - if it does not pan out for you - don't give up. There is an answer, you just might not have found it yet.

Since you have had some response I think it is too early to start feeling that this is as good as it is going to get. Here are some things to try. First, if there is anything in the above list that you are not incorporating into your treatment plan then add it in. You can use my program as a guide to the vitamins if you need. Second, if you have not read the book by Dr John Lee 'What your doctor may not tell you about premenopause' get it and read it. This will give you some insight into what you can do to get a better response. He is very clear about dosages and even goes into how and when to increase dosages to help women who are very ED through those first awful months.

Third, ask me any questions you have. I will be glad to answer. I have been there, and even though our journeys are not exactly the same, I can at least give you some advice from my perspective.

You have done well so far in sticking with this for 4 months. It is going to take longer, but don't worry. The best is yet to come.

Best wishes,
waxingmoon

Thank you Waxingmoon for your detailed response. It means a lot.

I have read Dr. Lee's book - time to reread I guess!

I will continue with the PC. When this tube runs out, I'll try another brand if I don't see some more improvements. I am amazed at the size difference in my fibrotic cyst - wow!

Thanks for listing your program details. I have to admit that, in the last 2 months, I have stopped exercising due to an overload in stress and severe anxiety (I know what you're thinking - vicious cycle). I even stopped taking my vitamins until a few days ago. I have not been good to my body and I guess that is a big reason why the PC doesn't seem to be fixing my problems. Shoulda known it was my fault! LOL! I've been coping with life much better the last few days, so I hope to start up tomorrow with my routine.

I am taking a multi-vitamin, B complex, C, magnesium and zinc. I was originally taking these for acne. I did buy the flax seeds and never used them. I'll get on that also.

I started with the PC a few days ago and have been consistent with 2x a day, instead of just once. I think that may help too.

Thanks for being there. You have really helped me over the months!
