Hi!

I started to take goat's rue 1200 mg x 2 a day, fennel 480 x 3 a day and licorie 1800-2700 mg a day the last week. I do it along with vitex 400 mg x 2 a day. I have used the vitex for 3,5 months but I am not balanced on it yet..I wanted to be more balanced first, but got desperate from being flat..
Has anyone used swansons vitex?

I don't use the Swanson brand of Vitex, just Nature's way and have been since May 08. I just finished using licorice root for a month and a half (not for NBE) and don't feel that it had any negative effect on my routine. I can't comment on the other herbs though, sorry :)

If I recall correctly, licorice is one of the anti-progesteronic herbs. Check out the information on herbs section under a topic I wrote about herbs competing with female hormones.

If I am remembering correctly then licorice would interfere with the ultimate effect of vitex.

I saw your info on herbs and yes it was said that licorie was anti progestorenic.
I don't really get it beacuse when it comes to for.ex red clover it is said that it is binds to progesterone receptors, but it is also written that red clover has anti progesteronic activity. I know red clover is traditionally used for improving fertility. Then I think that red clover must be balacing hormones ? What do you think or ?
