well i know wthis is really off topic, but ifigured, what the heck, most of us are here are female, and females love anyhting to make them selves more beauteous. so i thought i'd start a thread of random, beauty secrets and tips. so here are a few to start:
Asprin/honey mask:
many people don't know this but asprin is actually very good for your skin. so here is a simple and cost effective way to help you achieve clear skin.
you will need: 3-4 UNCOATED asprine tablets, 1-2 tsp water, and honey or aloe vera and a SOFT bristled crest spin brush.
step one, put the asprin tablets on a plate and cover them with a tiny bit of water, let them sit for a min or two and them crush them into powder, they should crush easily, then add a tablespoon of honey. honey is so good for your skin it is amazing that women aren't slathering it on themselves all the time. if you allergic to honey then you can use aloe vera.
mix it all together and out it on yourt face, avoiding the eyes. let it sit for at least 15 mins (lol i'm really bad for this, i'll put it on in the bath and them remember it 45 mins later , hahaha.)
then take your crest spin brush, this is NOT one you use on your teeth, and it ussually only costs 7-10 $ at the drugstore, now i don;t know about you but i cannot afford a microdermabrasion at the salon every week, so the spin brush will act in a similar way, turn on the brush, maybe wet it a bit and then "brush" your skin in gentle circles all over your face, once you are satisfied with that you can rinse it off, apply your toner and fav moisturiser! and O.M.G your skin is SO soft and smooth! do this once a week so that your skin doesn't become tollerant to the mask.
Lemon- most women know that iff you take ReaLemon juice, the kind you get at the store, you can soak your nails in it for 15 mins and it will help take out the yellow tint dark nailpolish causes. BUT if you have alot of blackheads you can also use it as a toner! simply apply it to your cotton ball/swab and apply it to your face like you would toner, do this at night, and wash it off in the morning. when you apply it to your face you should notice a slight stinging and tingly sensation for a few mins, and your skin will dramatically tighten, you can actually FEEL it tightening, and it makes my skin soft :)
facial scrub, all you need is Extra virgin olive oil, some granulated sugar and honey.
take a few tbsp of sugar and add a tbsp e.v.o.o and a bit of honey, mix it together and it makes a wonderful facial scrub! i know your thinking sugar? olive oil? but sugar is actually good for your skin! and the o.o won't clog your pores. when you rinse it off your face should be soft and smooth, if it feels oily you used to mush evoo, this is good enought to use a few times a week.
Tea Tree oil
this miracle oil is good for everything! it can clear warts, blemishes, help wounds, act as a mouth wash,(don't swallow it tastes gross!)
i use it for my face when i get blemishes, i just put it on and leave it there, you don't usually see a huge difference but it prevents the area from getting worse and can aid your skin in healing itself for a quicker "clear-up"
Vinegar: this is great for your hair, espessially if you use alot of product and even if you don't. what you do is take equal parts cold water and vinegar and massage it through your hair, leave it for a few mins athen rins eit out and wash like normal, don't use conditioner. the vinegar helps to break down the left over gunk from conditioners, hair product and pollution, do this once a month.
Tongue scrapers: OMG i can't believe how many people don't know about this product! what it is is a scraper that slides easily over the surface of your tongue removing the remaining bacteria on your mouth, it is essential to healthy oral hygiene and good breath.you can get them at most drugstores and department stores.
Tired eyes, you can help improve the look of tired eyes by taking two bags of chamomile tea and soak them in cold water then place them on your eyelids for 10-15 mins, and viola!
well these are just a few things that i thought were usefull. i'd love it if you all could add your thoughts and tips!
I love all these fun and inexpensive tips. How could asprin be good for your face though? Ad how was that figured out :)I was also like, sugar for your face? but hey why not? lol.....

Citrus juices can be very harsh on the skin- I wouldn't use the lemon. Other than that, your post was great and really useful! Thanks!
asprin has a chemical compound that fights bacteria, and soothes inflamation, so it works to prevent acne and get rid of it, alot of people get that red pustulie type pimples and the asprin really helps to calm down the redness and the "evil" bacteria that make it worse, also honey is full of great nutrients All-natural honey is an effective treatment for minor abrasions and burnsand it's widly known for its effectiveness as an antimicrobial agent.
i was watching oprah and they showed beauty secrets from around the world.
and in japan it is believed that clear skin is the key to being beautiful, so in japan they consume collagen, alot of women mix 1 tbsp collagen powder to a glass of water and drink it before bed, they also consume lots of meats that are high in collagen, so when you are taking your collagen tabs for N.B.E it is also helping your skin!
also women in the middle east like to take dried rose petals/buds and then they mix some with water and pour it over their hair.
"Aspirin is made out of salicylic acid also known as Beta Hydroxy Acid, BHA for short."
From wikipedia: "salicylic acid is a key ingredient in many skin-care products for the treatment of acne, psoriasis, calluses, corns, keratosis pilaris, and warts. It works by causing the cells of the epidermis to shed more readily, preventing pores from clogging up, and allowing room for new cell growth."
*Small disclaimer: I think this may make you a bit sensitive to the sun. Also make sure you don't leave this on too long, wouldn't want to hear horrible face disfiguring stories :(
May, Ricebunny also has a video on "microderma" with an electric toothbrush.
Olive oil and sugar make a great body scrub - I like using brown sugar which contains Glycolic acid, I also add in Glycerine (humectant which absorbs moisture?)
One of my favourites at the moment is Oats, Honey and Yogurt.
Oats - natural cleanser - absorbs dirt, and it soothes the skin (some use it to ease skin irritations and rashes) the grains are a natural exfoliator.
Natural/Bio yogurt - contains lactic acid and enzymes, helps refine pores and has antibacterial properties.
Honey - Absorbs and retains moisture. Also has antibactieral and healing properties. I like Manuka honey.
(Not sure if this is an old wives tale but apparently honey reacts with metal and may negate the honey's good properties - so if you want to be on the safe side, only use a wooden or plastic spoon o_0)
This receipe smells really nice! Cool it in the fridge for a bit, mix all the ingredients, then pat on your face. Refrigerate the rest, lasts me a week.
i'm not saying she isn't good i'm sure she is. but there are so many gurus out there its hard to believe that she thought of everything all by her lonesome.
that was a great tip you added by the way. i hope to see more of them :)
a few more tips: strawberries can make your teeth whiter if you rub the grainy surface over your teeth.
also the best time to apply perfume is when your skin is damp as it will absorbe into the skin better.
if you take oatmeal, mix it with honey, and olive oil, you can use this as a "scrub" for in the bath, it works even better if you put milk into your bath water and then soak in the water after the "scrub" has been used, the honey and oatmeal will nourish your skin farther and milk has been known for centuries to hydrate the skin.
just a ramndom thought, adding soy milk to your bath water, could it help the boobie processs?
