Someone was kind enough to alert me to this, so I researched it more and will be limiting my soy intake. Here's what I found on Ehow.com I have a family history of breast cancer and my mother has early alzheimer's so this freaked me out!

Soy in its self is toxic. It must be processed to be consumed safely. Here are a few dangers to be aware of if you consume a lot of soy.

InstructionsDifficulty: Easy
Step1Soy acts as a hormone in the body. It may effect thyroid production and cause excess estrogen in the body with a possible link to breast cancer. If you have a family history of any type of cancer, it is a good idea to limit your intake of soy. Remember, soy is now commonly found on the labels of nearly every prepackaged food!
Step2Soy in large quantities ages the brain and possibly causes Alzheimer's disease. If you have a genetic predisposition to Alzheimer's, it is probably a good idea to avoid soy products.
Step3Babies that consume only soy milk are ingesting the equivalent amount of estrogen in five birth control pills per day. Science suggests that this interferes with brain development as well as testosterone development.
Step4Soy blocks the body's ability to absorb certain minerals such as calcium and copper. This is especially important to those with a history of osteoporosis.
i would like to add that I found another article yesterday contradicting the first one. I am thoroughly confused. A good point was made in connection with soy being linked to breast cancer. It is widely used in Asia and there is more breast cancer in the US compared to Asia which contradicts the first article. I will still be careful but am not stopping the soy.
I just wanted to share my thoughts on this matter.
For EVERYTHING moderation is the key. It doesn't really matter what you are eating/taking; too much is always bad for you. Noone will say that vitamins and minerals are not good for you, but if you get too much, some of them can have toxic effects on the body.
Even water is not save out of moderation. People have died from drinking too much water.
I love soy, but as with everything else, I don't eat it out of moderation!

yea, you definetely don't want to give your baby soy, especially boys! feminise them mentally and physically, and they may feel confused about their sexuality later. I hear processed soy is more dangerous, I guess it depends on the actual process.
their is so much politics around soy consumption, I still can not figure out what soy products to avoid and which ones are safe.

carmen, I think women who have a history of breast cancer or family history should avoid soy more then other women.
The industry says it prevents breast cancer, that is, if you never had breast cancer.
I believe the asians consumed soy that was processed differently compared to the u.s. corporations soy. Do not asians consume it as a condiment as opposed to a staple food in the u.s. womens diet? Also, it took a couple of years to process the soy in asia in order for it to be consumed safely, am I right? any asians out there?
