hi
i am strongly considering a)reducing animal products b) going veggie c) going vegan. are there any vegans out there? i keep hearing animal protein is best for NBE, but does it really matter as long as you are getting enough protein?
i might reduce animal products but continue to take whey protein just for NBE...
my boyfriend is a vegan :) he eats alot of soy, and tofu. he takes some herbal pills like one a day, but hes also a large tea drinker. 90% of his liquid intake is tea he orders online, but hes very healthy. we usually use brown rice with soy sauce and mix in tofu and veggies, but there are TONS of vegan recipes out there that are full of protein! try vegweb.com, i go there alot to get cooking ideas. :) believe it or not, you can get some stuff from taco bell and still be vegan :) just takes some adjusting and get in the habit of label reading, and you should be great!
I am a lacto - ovo vegetarian. It is true that not all proteins are equal, their quality depends on how many amino acids are in them but soy protein is 100% protein. The only one from plant source I think. However you can mix two plant sources together and get 100% protein from them combined f.ex beans and rice.
Im a vegetarian (I eat eggs and drink milk)
I was wondering the same thing about protein... I try and eat lots of lentils, beans, chickpeas, quinoa, salba hispanica which are all good for protein.
I have had some growth :) So I think it is possible to get growth even if you are a vegetarian.
I am vegetarian also (and pretty much vegan) But I do drink whey protein drinks, but if you did want to cut milk out all together there are plenty of soy protein powders out there which i am going to switch to. I have already had some growth so I don't think you need animal products for NBE, besides most of the things that work are herbs! the only down side is i hear gelatin works well for growth but since I cant bring myself to eat that stuff I've been looking into plant sources of gelatin, its hard to find but it is out there! Mainly in seaweed it seems. I'll let everyone know if I get a hold of some and if it yields the same results.
