I have to clear my throat all the time ..

Hi,Linn.I saw your other post about the unclear voice w/SP and I had meant to respond, but I guess the post got lost to me,as I have not been on in almost a week until yesterday.I did notice an unclear throat for about the first 2 weeks I took SP.Now my voice seems clearer, unless my sinuses or allergies are giving me hell.I guess it is where I have excess androgens, therefore higher testosterone levels and it sraightens that out as well.I do have a lower voice naturally, not manly but lower pitch, sultry voice.Think of Stevie Knicks and The Nanny(when I laugh----when I just chuckle).I do sound almost just like Stevie Knicks,Tanya Tucker when I sing.My voice is clearer now,so I hope that has not taken away that grit in my voice when I sing, which I don't do much.
I thought this was unusual as well, but it does make sense if you take SP.How long have you been taking the SP? Like I said, mine straightened out and became clearer. It is not right at this moment, but that is due to my sinuses.I hope this helped you out a little.

well here is one source that says this:
"Useful for asthma and all kinds of throat troubles, colds, bronchitis, la grippe, whooping cough, and when the throat is irritated and painful. Especially useful when there is excessive mucous discharge from the sinuses and nose."

Hi Mel C and Lori!
Thanks for your answers, they were helpful. I have been taking it for 27 days and I have had a break for 4 days now when I have my period. My voice is not fine yet and I consider to stop, but I will really take this herb because I desperatly need it. My period came after 34 days this time and that is record for me,it is normally later. I have also experienced bloodshoot eyes, have you experienced this?

Hi Linn,
One reason a person would experience a change in their voice can be due to thyroid hormone imbalance.
Raising estrogen can interfere with the thyroid and in susceptible individual mimic the signs of hypothyroidism (low thyroid hormone output). The thyroid problem voice is very low in register and somewhat husky.
If estrogen levels are interfering in thyroid then other symptoms such as fatigue, insomnia, sensitivity to cold and a whole host of others can become a problem. Thyroid hormone tests don't seem to be able to identify this problem because the body is actually producing enough thyroid hormone - it just can't get to the cells because the excess estrogen produces Thyroid Binding Hormone that links to the thyroid hormone and renders it useless.
High estrogen levels are something we should avoid.

Hi Waxingmoon!
Thanks for your answer . You have so much knowledge on this. I was thinking that the voice problem was because of thyriodea problems, but I hav'nt experienced any other "thyroidea symptoms" yet, except from an eye that very easily get bloodshot. I know this also could be caused by thyoriodea imbalance.
I only take 160 mg extact of saw palmetto a day along with 800 mg vitex.
I don't understand why you say I should avoid to raise estrogen levels. I thought that that was the way to grow breasts. If I have to much testosterone I must raise my estrogen to have a chance to succed, is'nt that right?
Or you can say the way to grow is to achieve balance. But I think for many girls balance is that they need more estrogen or progesterone and less testosterone. Please correct me if i am wrong.
I also read somewhere on the web that saw palmetto raise prolaktin, but here on the board I have always read that it reduce a metabolitte of DHT and that it works as an anrogen blocker..What is right?
One last question is the symptoms I experience something that can be permanent or will it vanish after nbe?
I can live with this for now if i will be fine after hopefully succeding with nbe..

Hi Linn,
There has frequently been a debate as to whether raising estrogen levels is the way to permanent breast growth. Some women do experience an increase in breast size if they increase estrogen. However, if it was as simple as that, then all women would respond to increased estrogen - and obviously just based on the number of herbal programs and various other strategies this is not the solution. I personally don't believe raising estrogen levels beyond what is natural for our body is ever a good idea.
Some have experienced increases in breast size through an increased estrogen level only to have the breast size decrease once they stopped the estrogen supplementation.
So - raising estrogen levels is not a certain way to cause breast growth - and for some it can lead to many, many problems.
There are many different and successful methods of NBE that have nothing to do with raising estrogen levels. Hypnosis, massage, magnets and suction have all proven to be successful - not in everyone - but in many - just like herbal methods.
Personally I would never do anything to raise my estrogen levels due to my extreme estrogen dominance problem. I have achieved breast growth by lowering my estrogen levels, balancing my progesterone, and massage. I also have a high protein intake and take large amounts of vitamin C. I also for health reasons take many other supplements.
High estrogen levels are not desirable. Even those methods that raise estrogen and work are successful because the estrogen level is brought up an appropriate amount - in other words the woman did not cause a hormone imbalance - she merely raised her estrogen moderately - keeping it at a level her body could tolerate.
There have been several bad scenarios of women who thought that increased estrogen was the way to go and pushed it over the edge - they suffered health consequences as a result.
It is never okay to push your hormones out of balance - NBE is not worth illness and the kind of symptoms you can create. Sometimes a hormone imbalance can cause permanent problems - in other words what you create cannot be undone. Don't ignore or gloss over your symptoms.
Never take your health for granted. Yes, do the things that balance your hormones. Take SP or other things if your testosterone is too high. But don't think that pushing your estrogen upward is going to lower your testosterone - that would only be a solution if you suffered from low estrogen.
NBE is a very tricky thing. The better you know your own body the better results you are likely to obtain. Chose the healthiest path you can and don't have an attitude that it is okay to do a little harm now as long as it gets you big boobs. You won't be appreciating big boobs if you ruin your health in the process.
I know, I know - what a downer I am... lol. But I tell you - I work with people each day that would give anything to have health - the thing we all take for granted when we have it... Since I too have tread a tenuous path in my own quest for health this issue is an important one for me.
Research constantly - never accept that you know every thing you need to know - keep looking.
Best wishes,
waxingmoon
