Yeah... this computer was totally infested. None of those good anti-spyware things worked. Those bastards are always one step ahead of us. So some professional came in and fixed my computer, but I wasn't home when he was there, so I didn't see what he did. But he switched the browser to Mozilla, cuz apparently IE sucks now. Majorly. Also, watch out for Kazaa, they've been known to harbor all kindsa gay spyware crap.
I dont think its so much that Kazaa harbors Spyware (I wouldnt know, I dont use it or do anything illegal on my comp except look at kiddie porn. j/k) but the downloads do. Watch what you download on that and you should be good on that account.
The free version of kazaa DOES indeed harbor spyware. LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS OF IT. I know this becuse, like an idiot, I downloaded it and without downloading anything, got hit with tons. One I still havent been able to get rid of, its from altnet and every time I try to remove it, once my computer goes into removal or quarentine mode it redirects it to ignore. Hajack this dosn't even see it, the only program I have gotten to see it is Microsoft's beta spyware program. lol, kazaa is EVIL. Unless your willing to pay ungodly amounts of cash to get the ad free version.
kazaa lite used to be safe,
that is, until....
my friends kazaa program hijacked his computer and scanned his hard drive and it took hours and he wasnt able to do anything about it, and if he tried to unplug it, when it started back up, it went right back to what it was doing
it says right in its user agreement that its allowed to that...
i always read/scan over user agreements, especially when your doing something like that
ares is no good, i got adware from it, but luckily microsoft antispy catches shit...
i use Warez, decent, didnt get anything from it
Watch out when you go through installations, like with warez, it will ask you if u want that adware program, and also if you want to filter copyrighted material...always watch the options it gives you
