Thank you very much for posting the pictures Judy. I'm really sorry that I missed him. Can't wait to find out if he'll be on the forest this year so that I can take a wander out and see if I can find him.
I thought Playaway would be much lighter this time of the year - Ozzie is nearly all pinky/white on his back. Can't wait until he gets his lovely chestnut roan back again.
Great photos. Thank you.
Mx
p.s. Hope you don't mind but I've added them to Ozzie's family album

Julie - can you post a picture of your mare and give me detail of her registered name, date of birth and mum's name because I'd love to add another sister to Ozzie's family album.

Yes I can see the picture Julie. Thank you. I will add your girl to my album. She's very different than the boys I've seen so far who all seem to be chestnut or chestnut roan.

Looks like he has a calm temperment aswell, he really does have it all doesnt he!

Player is lovely. he's a really gentle biy (assuming he's not changed in the few years since I saw him last - I used to keep my lot at his owner's yard)
And here is another son of Play-Away - Rushmoor Playwright. He is the sire of all the lovely chestnut foals I saw at Weirs Drift last year

Julie, I'm guessing that Shyowna and Ozzie are related on both sides somewhere along the line then! Both have Playaway as dad and Mockbeggar mums!
Do you know the name of Shy's mum's parents?
Ozzie's mum is Mockbeggar Squirrel, and his grandparents on the maternal side are Mockbeggar Huckleberry Finn (grandfather) and Mockbeggar Red Squirrel II (grandmother).
By the way, Shyowna is really beautiful, very similar to the colouring of my old NF. What size is she?
Judy .... you're a SUPER-STAR!!! Haven't enjoyed myself so much looking at photos on the computer for years!!!!!!! Ooops that sounds a bit wierd doesn't it?
I had no idea that purchasing a registerd New Forest would be so interesting!
Jane, Ozzie's mane is really long now too and everyone at the yard keeps telling me I should pull it but I can't - it's sooo lovely. It's chestnut, really silky, and falls beautifully flat to his neck now.
(Having used an epilady on my legs this morning, it made me think about how painful mane pulling might be for horses!)
thank you mandy shy is 14 hands all i know on her dams side is grand dam mockbeggar flame and grand sire is forest horse i would love to find out more about her mum. ive owned her since a wild yearing and can honestly say ive enjoyed every stage of her life so far.
She's certainly lovely and holds herself really well.
Mandy - I don't have the heart to pull a mane either, Peanuts does his own.. honestly! never fails.. he trims is tail and forelock too... I told him off for shortening his tail too much only a couple of days ago! lol
Thunder's does come to his neck now but it's not very thick. His tail never gets much past his socks - a friend on my old yard before we moved used to laugh and say he was never going to grow into his legs! lol they were all convinced he'd make 15hh's! there's no chance of that but he does still look leggy.
Do you know what the word FAMILY means?
FAMILY = (F)ATHER (A)ND (M)OTHER (I) (L)OVE (Y)OU
Hello my names Bonnie and i was just lookin at all the lovely pics of the boys! I found them especilly interesting as i've just bought a rising 2 filly who was sired by Rushmoor Playwrite as soon as i've got some piccys i'll post them on here, her dam is called Oakapple Whinnie, does anyone know anything about her? Would be great to find out as much as i can about her, your help would be really appreciated, My girl is called Oakapple swallow she's chestnut with 3 white socks and a blaze and she's a real little sweety!
Thanks alot for taking the time to reply
So that means my girly is your Daisy Maes aunty! How lovely! Is really nice to find out some bits about her family, could find loads to do with her dad but nothing at all about mum! I shall also write to her breeders and see what info they can give me, is nice to know there friendly
I find your ponys name really interesting actually as when i bought her i was told that she is known Daisy and she was born in May! What a strange coincidence! Although i still havent actually decided on a stable name for her she is affectionately known as girly at the moment! Had almost decided to keep it as Daisy but now i see i'd actually be stealing her nieces name i'll have to have a rethink, lol!
Do u have any pics of Daisy Mae as i'd love to compare them and see if they look alike as girly seems to be very similar to her dad, but as she has a chestnut mum i could be totally wrong! Who's Daisy Maes dad?
Thanks again for taking the time to answer:)
