well my frankie -- (hanky panky frankie( , gingey as more affectionately called--- is not anymore "ginger" as to say. Well he had this white spot on his shoulder last summer - we thought it was like a scar -- but quite annoyingly he has had outbreaks of white over him - white in his mane and tail , between his legs and his blaze is spreading ! hes got a white patch on his hindquarters and a whit patch on a whorl on his belly !!
My Gingey isn't Ginge any more !!!

(he didnt have it when he was a baby ... )

( he now has a white patch on his shoulder) but this pic was taken last summer -- its now roanish - and bigger -- and he has white hairs all over !!
:S
i want my gingey back !!!

lol sorry for boring you all !

Bramble has a similar marking although more flecked with chestnut on her bottom and around her hind leg, I was told it was a sabino gene coming out subtly

Well what a fantastic surprise - and a positive bonus! If he turns out to be a chestnut roan he'll be even more gorgeous than you could have possibly imagined!!!

(Ozzie's bum end is virtually white now, but my ginger will be back when his summer coat comes through!)

quite concerned...

April 18 2008, 8:18 PM

Hehe - i do hope he does go roan- but i would prefer him to stay chestnut- but if he does i would like a respectable roan - not just a few hairs ! either way i dont mind what colour he is as he will still be my frankie - i will love him all the same :D
i am thinking of enquiring about whether he will still be "legal" in the registers if he keeps his white spot - i know heather has said it is fine on white skin but not on pink ? has any noe got any futher info on this / or any contacts (email) i could use to enquire about this ?

i was confused by that too and she is my kid she doesn't want him to be roan she would prefer him to stay chestnut but i guess she would prefer him roan over Skewbald as then he wouldn't be able to be registered... if that makes sense
